Quite unlikely for a vehicle this size and weight.
This topic was never about the jagdtiger, jagdtiger is helping as the support character for the struggling main character with out of league opponents.
That’s an M26, which is what my reply was about. More than capable of getting back into cover, even with a slower reverse than the tortoise.
Hence why the Tortoise and Jagdtiger are similar in performance at the BR of 6.7.
Tortoise is generally more useful at closer ranges, and much more useful in downtiers than the Jagdtiger.
I personally would not take out the tortoise without hills as well coz i have not seen a casemate this green before lol
The better gun depression on the Tortoise (-10 degrees) also helps with that, compared to the Jagdtiger (which only has -7 degrees).
Yes it does coz without it tortoise is just a rp/sp/sl producing machine lol
Dont forget that the jadgtiger can only use its depression if you are aiming forward. Aiming to the side will limit its gun depression.
Tortoise does beat the jadgtiger in gun depression and gun traverse angles.
I’m just tired
Meanwhile Ho-Ri prototype also at 6.7:
-About same mobility as JagdTiger with bit better power to weight ratio (10.8 vs 9.3hp/ton). However the lack of neutral steering makes it practically far worse, since turning is essential for turretless barns.
-Gun about the same as 8.8 L/71, except slower reload.
-Armor far worse than any heavy tank or heavy TD. Only thing which can’t go through the superstructure front is a rarely met Jumbo 75, which can still go through transmission plate.
Seems like this thing might be in the same boat
Stop smoking man…
just because you can’t pen a tank frontally mean it should be uptiered just for your fun
remember
destroy the track and the barrel then you flank him
or you angle it and you’ll have a great tank
for the Ho-Ri you need to cover the transmission plate then you’ll have a beast
Umm… Uptiering the jagdtiger was not my original idea. I just created this post coz i felt the disparity. Don’t wanna argue here too much but shooting barrels is not easy at a decent distance, also if u go for tracks first then they can always shoot back. But anyway, 👍🏿 okay.
The superstructure doesn’t seem like it would stop anything, he’s talking about the premium, it only has this sloped plate, angling wouldn’t mitigate anything much, just makes the already strong upper plate stronger while showing weak sides to russian magical shells.
The gun can’t turn enough to match an angle you’d need to make the 120mm plate viable. Occasionally the 150mm plate can work when there is more range and enough time to turn. At short ranges you have those front corners making you extra vulnerable, just like with Ferdinand, which is a better vehicle in everyway.
And the gun stats are not that impressive either for the br, there are better guns out there with similar reload.
I don’t see why anyone thinks the Jagtiger should go to 7.0, it’s got no side armour. Flank it and it’s dead.
Tortoise should be the only real discussion here. As previously mentioned it should be 6.3.
I mean… it has more side armor than most things up to that point, but yes you only need about 90mm of pen to reliably kill it side on at close range
I also rejected the idea of jagdtiger moving up to 7.0 after going through the discussions but certainly it is a case of br compression here as it is stronger than other casemates at this br. Also tortoise going to 6.3 makes so much sense considering all these armor ignoring tanks and strong aphe tanks at this br.
