American short 90mm APCR is actually quite underrated, being able to frontally penetrate Panthers at fairly far ranges, and doing decent amount of damage (albeit not as good as regular AP).
You can quite reliably get both the gunner and driver, rendering them completely incapacitated, unlike with APHE, where it’s quite unlikely that you can get both the gunner and driver, or get their ammo.
No apds on the tortoise. And 19 kph doesn’t equal the jagdtiger but sure the tortoise has better reverse, and we’ve long since left the mobility territory (noone is babbling about it rn)
Why do we need to only talk about Sabot?
If the main purpose of this argument is ‘Jagdtiger has op armour’, then it shouldn’t matter what type of round it dies to.
Default is rarely the engagement range of most scenarios in most maps. It’s around 10m to 300m.
Only on long-range maps (like sands of sinai) should you be considering 500m to be the average.
Some guy mentioned it i was replying. So let me sum it up, the topic is not that jagdtiger has op armor or not.
Tortoise having inferior shells mobility and armor makes it a contender for 6.3. that’s the flow of the conversation.
This topic was never about the jagdtiger, jagdtiger is helping as the support character for the struggling main character with out of league opponents.
Hence why the Tortoise and Jagdtiger are similar in performance at the BR of 6.7.
Tortoise is generally more useful at closer ranges, and much more useful in downtiers than the Jagdtiger.
Meanwhile Ho-Ri prototype also at 6.7:
-About same mobility as JagdTiger with bit better power to weight ratio (10.8 vs 9.3hp/ton). However the lack of neutral steering makes it practically far worse, since turning is essential for turretless barns.
-Gun about the same as 8.8 L/71, except slower reload.
-Armor far worse than any heavy tank or heavy TD. Only thing which can’t go through the superstructure front is a rarely met Jumbo 75, which can still go through transmission plate.
