Jagdtiger and Tortoise at 6.7?

Pretty equal mobility, so what are you babbling about?

Yeah, the Jagdtigers gun is massive, 128mm; massive overmatch on lots of tanks. Who would have thought its gun would be better in the APHE dept.; tortoise is British, they don’t like APHE, but you have APDS iirc.

Like most of them. Most US 90mm cant pen anywhere, even with APCR, unless it has HEATFS. The 75mm even less. Only chance you got is if you catch it in the side.

You’re forgetting about the Ratel 90, and especially the G6 / M109A1.

Jagdtiger has better HP/ton (accelerates better), as well as having a higher top speed (42km/h instead of 19km/h). Although, the Tortoise has a better reverse speed of 19km/h instead of 11km/h.

Jagdtiger also has a massive vertical profile, square construction, and a massive bomb target. The Tortoise is just British, and suffers as such.(not saying Brit’s are bad in game, but in real life too; because uhh, horrendous engine designs (See leyland V-12 in the centurions))

Japan alone has 5 of them in a .3 BR spread.

Yes, they have 2-plane stabs at a tier where nobody else does. They are VERY strong and I’m not gonna pretend otherwise.

.7 BR above is “around”.

And a much slower reload.

I’ve used M304 and M332 quite a bit and I’ve got very few complaints.

American short 90mm APCR is actually quite underrated, being able to frontally penetrate Panthers at fairly far ranges, and doing decent amount of damage (albeit not as good as regular AP).

You can quite reliably get both the gunner and driver, rendering them completely incapacitated, unlike with APHE, where it’s quite unlikely that you can get both the gunner and driver, or get their ammo.

Such a shame that the 5.7 T1E1, with the short 90mm, doesn’t get the APCR round…

No apds on the tortoise. And 19 kph doesn’t equal the jagdtiger but sure the tortoise has better reverse, and we’ve long since left the mobility territory (noone is babbling about it rn)

Ohh do you perceive it that way, i usually think of around as ±0.3 in war thunder.

Were talking about sabot.

Why do we need to only talk about Sabot?
If the main purpose of this argument is ‘Jagdtiger has op armour’, then it shouldn’t matter what type of round it dies to.

Umm sir can you let the engagement range be default please?

Default is rarely the engagement range of most scenarios in most maps. It’s around 10m to 300m.
Only on long-range maps (like sands of sinai) should you be considering 500m to be the average.

300m is about average. Any further and you can just go back into cover.

Some guy mentioned it i was replying. So let me sum it up, the topic is not that jagdtiger has op armor or not.
Tortoise having inferior shells mobility and armor makes it a contender for 6.3. that’s the flow of the conversation.

Then I personally would not take out the jagdtiger on most maps then.

Quite unlikely for a vehicle this size and weight.

This topic was never about the jagdtiger, jagdtiger is helping as the support character for the struggling main character with out of league opponents.

That’s an M26, which is what my reply was about. More than capable of getting back into cover, even with a slower reverse than the tortoise.

Hence why the Tortoise and Jagdtiger are similar in performance at the BR of 6.7.
Tortoise is generally more useful at closer ranges, and much more useful in downtiers than the Jagdtiger.
