As it is know, the J7W was a prototype bomber interceptor designed by Japan in the last few years of the war. As it is an interceptor wouldn’t it make sense to give it an airspawn? Its speed is rather decent and its dive capabilities are above average, but other than that, its accelerations is not that great, the turning rate is very much below average and the guns while good, have a low ammo count.
My suggestion would be to give it at least an airspawn, as it is an interceptor. And if possible, also a BR decrease from 6.0 to 5.7 as even if it is pretty fast, basically every fighter at 6.0, and even to some extent 5.7, can catch it in a straight line given enough time.
Also this also applies to to TA-152C3 which has all of the weak points of the J7W + it sits at 6.3, when it should stay at most in 6.0/5.7, but at least the TA as an airspawn.
Yes because of the good guns, people engage in head on attacks and win. If the fight goes prolonged and they turn around for you…its over.
We can see this happening with many other planes. Look at the Fw 190 A8 another interceptor, it has bad performance but it gets 4 20mm cannons + 2 13mm mg’s, people do head ons and they win…which is exactly why it was given an airspawn. It has bad performance because of the extra guns it has for bomber interception and thus it gets an airspawn.
The only reason the shinden is not doing bad according to its stats is because of this. Also, isn’t it agreed that while stats while decent at giving a general picture for where certain planes should belong in the BR range, it should not be used to fine tune the balancing system? And after all that is what I’m asking a fine tune of the system, just an airspawn ( as it is an interceptor) with maybe if possible a small br decrease to 5.7.
Except the ACE or new players, no one wanna to play it. Statistical samples cannot fully prove the strength or weakness of a vehicle.
weird if it’s a interceptor why it does not have interceptor spawn like the Ta152H / C3 ?
That’s what I’ve been trying to say…its down right wrong to adress this plane as simply a normal fighter.
I mean just look at the wiki page…
Finally someone who gets how statistics can be skewed…I swear to got some of these people are either loyal gaijin defenders bacause “oh no they’re attacking the multiple billion dollar company, we must defend it” or are just down right moronic
Spaded it recently.
It’s a dog - will never fly again
For most of the Japanese high-tier WWII aircraft, they all suffered such kind of issue,
I don’t know why Gaijin still believes they are “efficient” like last time a Gaijin developer said, as a game designer, they don’t even know the basic knowledge of statistics, which makes them only believe the result but don’t know why they will get this result. Look at these planes, all of them are overvalued, most of players have tried them, and won’t be able to say they are fair enough. Currently, only ACE players or new guys who don’t know how sh*t they are will try them, and that’s why they still keep high winrate, but poor K/D and K/S
And here I thought their prop stats were way better than this…
I’m amazed the R2Y2s have not gone down. I use mine as ground attackers (because 38mm pen APHE is really good at that), but a 7.0 F-80A wipes the floor with any R2Y2 in both speed and maneuverability.
I’d move down a ton of Japanese BRs as follows:
- A6Ms: 3.0-4.3 tops for the whole group, with an optional modification to clip the wings of any Zero from the A6M3 onwards. I would kill for that roll rate on the M5s which have actually working guns.
- Ki-61s: early models are fine more or less, but the 1-Tei and 1-Hei are hardly any better these days, and thus are at maximum 4.0-worthy. The Ki-61-2 is 4.3-worthy, being akin to the Bf-109G-2.
- J2Ms: I’d move the J2M2 down a bit to 4.7, and the J2M3 back to 5.3. Both J2M5 models have engines optimized for very high altitude, thus they absolutely suck below that, and should both be 4.3 tops. The J2M4 is worse than both of those from being heavier, and could easily be 4.0 without causing problems. All J2Ms stiffen up badly over 550kph - why are they fighting opponents which can cruise in level flight at more than that speed?
- N1Ks: The N1K1-Ja is a 4.3-worthy plane, while the N1K2s are maybe 4.7-5.0 grade at best. They lost their fantasy FM years ago but have barely budged in BR ever since.
- Ki-84s: These should be 4.7-5.3 for each of the three respective models, especially since neutering the 30mm guns’ velocity.
- A7M1 and A7M2: When they released, they literally did not compress at high speed, and could turn just as well at 800kph as they could at 400kph. Their BRs shot up, then they got corrected, but their BRs never went back down. I’d start by moving them down one step apiece to 4.7 and 5.0, respectively.
- Heavy Fighter Line: Ki-108 is the last decent one. The J5N1 has flight characteristics like the Me-410s two BRs lower, and belongs at best at 4.0, if not 3.7 like the Ki-108. The Ki-83, honestly if the airspawn is the issue then give it ground spawn and drop it by two whole BRs (for the record I feel the same about the Hornet and F7F which are in a similarly bad spot). Almost forgot the J7W, which is so bad it should be 4.3 tops, maybe even 3.7.
- J6K1: It’s at best a 5.3-grade plane with lots of guns. It’s a funny N1K2 in how it flies.
- Ki-87: It’s sorta like a P-47D-25, but with cannons instead of MGs. Why is it not at most slightly higher than the D-25 at 4.3? Nobody flies it for good reason…it doesn’t even have any ordinance to have occasional use in Ground or Naval.
- Ki-94-II: Another high alt bomber killer nobody in their right mind uses. It’s similarly overtiered and is slow as all hell at most relevant altitudes. Why isn’t it like 4.3 with its current flight characteristics?
- Dive Bomber Line: surprisingly, these are all correctly-tiered for what they are capable of.
- Bomber Line: Folder all Ki-49s under the G4M1, and place all of them at 2.7 - none of them are better than the G4M1 in flight performance, payload, handling, or guns. Ki-67s are no more useful than the P1Y1 at 3.3 and have worse flight performance to boot - why are these also not 3.3 right after the G4M-Ki-49 folder? Lastly, the G8N1 is not even remotely a “death star” anymore, not with how frail bomber DMs are - but no BR change will really help fix bombers of this sort.
it does kinda need an interceptor spawn
it’s just sub-par compared to everything else
The J7W1 needs to massively plummet in BR. It’s got 4.3-grade flight performance at best, and should go down in all modes, too.
