Yea mb, It has IR mavs which are vastly better
Genuine question, what about J-22 is so egregious at 10.7 ?
Its

RUSSIAN RUSSIAN RUSSIAN
MITL (with terrain following) agms. That’s pretty much it.
The strat is to avoid LOS of spaa far from the battlefield, launch, and guide the missile all the way in.
You could do some cool tricks with this agm. You could lock a point close which makes the missile dive then, then lock a point far which makes it fly up. Essentially you could fly a bit more closer to the ground which can be used as a sort of popup attack agm. Tried it with my kh59, seems to work well so I’d assume it’d be the same for this.
So far I’ve seen a couple of couple of su24s and J22 stick around the airfield and they’ve been harassing the enemy team quite effectively.
It’s no better, MITL
Yugoslav bias clearly. Its just that good.
Even barely competent spaa player can shoot down 0.7 Mach missiles coming one by one. Also mitl has some weird bugs. Desyncs, mole tanks and seeker looking somewhere right/left from tank map for no reason. While first 2 can somewhat be dealt with, missile can be considered wasted when third bug happens. Thats why I still stick to 3 kh29te on su24 - they are much more reliable and have less chances to get intercepted.
Still guiding missile one by one. With buggy interface instead of tram sight. Also tram bombs use boosters and then dive down on targets which makes them invisible to any spaa radar of that br. So you can delete valuable players one by one from safety without having to worry spaa will shoot down you or your missiles. Also skippers are much faster than kosava.
At what altitude do they follow the terrain, 600m ?
Define far here.
As far as I can tell, that missile has a maximum speed of like 240m/s which, if launched from 10km of range, would mean it’ll travel for 40+ seconds before if reaches it’s target.
Also, is there a way you could guide more than one missile at the same time reliably ?
If not, firing off a full salvo will take you around 3 minutes to do which doesn’t sound optimal.
Which is why you use the both the map and lock point to avoid the spaa. You don’t rely entirely on it’s a terrain following feature. A lot of maps give spaa many blinds spot, use em. You don’t even need to go for spaa while you’re doing this. just go for regular enemies.
It’s entirely dependent on how high/fast you are going as well as if there is any spaa to begin with. If you’re already that high, chances are you’ve been spotted. If you fly low, you it’s CCIP won’t be accurate to where you want to lob it because it treats it as a normal dumb rocket. In addition, the biggest downside to skippers is that at heart they are still laser guided gbus meaning that they cannot course correct mid flight until you’re within 2-3km and even then, you cannot have your laser outside it’s tracking cone.
Good thermal camera + range over the rest is what i read.
What do you need this additional range for ?
Apparently they can sit outside of all AA range but the tungy - which it doesnt fight (he said maybe 1 other AA can touch it i forget)
Combined with good thermals its most OP CAS around
Pretty sure it was a video come to think of it not read…
You don’t need 20km+ range for that.
Not sure im only 9.0 ground.
Also, who was that YouTuber ?
Your missile gets more and stubborn the closer it is to your target. Arent avoiding anything. Just compare that to bullpups/kh23 with camera bug.
I dont rely on terrain following, missile itself drops low and gets into aa radar fov.
And spaa can go to point which lets it see both jet and missiles without any issues. Just like I did:
Its easy to climb and gain speed outside spaa range. You can even outrange tor. And supress it with multiple skippers at once if it decides to fight back. Can you do same with kosava? Yes but with much larger delay between launches. And 3/4 missiles will stay in point lock mode.
Nobody flies low on tram.
Cone is big enough to let you switch to another target. And nobody will mess with your sensitivity in terminal phase.
Oh by the way. You wont be able to use your thermals in missile view. While tram will still have access to thermals in targetting optics. In some cases difference is entirely gray screen vs bit blurry image but with highlighted enemies. Also tv munitions dont work in night battles.
