Israel should NOT get the M109

There is absolutely no reason why Israel should be getting the M109…

Instead of something unique like the Sholef V1 or V2 you give Israel the M109??? Come on Gaijin I thought you were better than this

Israel used the M109 against Egypt in the 1973 Yom Kippur War and in the 1982 and 2006 Lebanon Wars.

That’s a real reason.

Yeah let’s give this horrible howitzer that is going to be nothing but tree filler

I wouldn’t mind anything else, I HATE the M109

That’s just your opinion… Doesn’t change the facts.

That is not the point. Israel has so many unique SPHs to add, the M109 should’ve been a lower priority SPH. What about the Sholef V2, or maybe the Ro’esh or Rascal? Hell, even the unique M109I7 ‘Spark’ would’ve been cool to see. I am sick and tired of copy and paste Gaijin I want unique vehicles!

It’s easier to chuck something else in that they have already.

They used it, so it’s a thing.

Here are couple of examples for Israeli SPHs that could be added instead of the M109:

Sholef V2
155mm L/52 howitzer-cannon on a Merkava Mk.1 hull with a new 1200hp engine, new armored turret and a 6.67sec autoloader with a total of 75 shells with a 60-shell ready rack. Also has a laser rangefinder, FCS, two-plane stabilizer for the cannon, and more stuff.

Ro’esh
Centurion-based SPH with the domestic M-71 155mm L/39 howitzer

image

Rascal (L/52)
Unique lightweight SPH meant to be fast and travel on roads without damaging them

M109I7 ‘Spark’
Special modification of the M109 made together by IMI (today Elbit) and Rheinmetal. It received the 155mm L/52 cannon of the PzH 2000, a new 460hp engine, a new transmission, an autoloader with a reload rate of 10sec, a laser rangefinder, a new fire control system with lots of fancy fire modes like MRSI, and several other smaller features.

ML-20 Ro’em
An ultra-rare version of the Ro’em SPH, instead of the standard M-68 155mm L/33 it uses an ML-20 howitzer, and mind you it is the original towed-variant ML-20 and not the tank-optimized ML-20S.

Those are just my top 5 picks (in order from top to bottom), any one of these could be a cool addition for Israel that would also be unique, and in some cases offer a different gameplay compared to other SPHs ingame. Gaijin’s choice to give Israel the M109A2/A5 (I have not figured it out yet) is straight-up offensive, they legit try on purpose to make Israel look like a copy-and-paste nation. It’s not like the M109 was already ingame, they made this model for this update.

I hope something changes.

Israel should get the Rochev instead of the 109!!

The Rochev is just an M109A2, and the Doher is an M109A5

Israel uses M109s. But they should get the Sholef. Or both.

You know that gaijn has a limited number of vehicles, and he wants to make money on them, so he adds copies to the tree

The Sholef is just a merkava hull with a new turret

No shirt batman! 😏

Bro, it is a lot more than that.

I have never seen the M109 in Israeli service. Only M109A5, and I see records of M109A2. Never seen in Israel an M109 variant that doesn’t have an L39 gun.

Am I wrong or has Gaijin hit rock bottom?

These variants were used by Israel, as well as the A1 variant.

I’d rather that variant of M109 be added to Israel as a premium, or even better, as an event vehicle so it would one day disappear forever from the matchmaking. I hate the M109 so much.

It’s completely fair that Israel receives the M109. It used it as well as its a simple carry over from other trees. It be one thing if only Israel received the M109 (then it would be a waste) but since everyone got it, it’s justifiable. Israel will get its other arty…eventually sigh

So the only reason you don’t want them to have a tank they actually had is because you hate it? Not enough of a reason imo

Gaijin uses this as an excuse to avoid adding vehicles to Israel. What sucks even more is that when Gaijin adds vehicles to Israel, it’s more a declaration of intent. The actual vehicle enters a finished status only after years of being in a broken state.
By the time we’ll get any vehicle added to Israel properly, most would probably leave the game.
