This is all fluff. APS is not REPLACING armor, it SUPPLEMENTS IT.
This is why tanks are getting heavier instead of getting LIGHTER, which they’d do if their armor was being phased out
This discussion’s whole point is about the performance of the armor in War Thunder against the threats it faces ingame, are you being purposefully obtuse or…?

Yeah that’s not my point. My point is that all of the time and money are going into upgraded sensors and systems. The reason vehicles are getting heavier isn’t because they’re putting more armor into them it’s because they’re being loaded down with more internal systems and capabilities.
You brought up a document about a tank that isn’t even in game yet, I responded to it. There’s no reason to try and play then “well we’re talking about the game” card now.

You may be able to enlighten me, then- which further “internal systems and capabilities” makes SEPv3 be 3 tons heavier than SEPv2?
I talked about a tank that isn’t even ingame yet on the premise that it SHOULD be ingame and explained why, being said reason this additional armor that would finally make a difference ingame.
Phasing out the armor would mean they’re getting RID of it, so the tanks would be getting LIGHTER still.

In the context of this conversation, saying the threats the abrams is armored to face are from the 80s is effectively saying the abrams is still protected to the standards of the 80s, which is damn near what I said, if not exactly.
Right, so it’s not in the game. So why get so up in arms when I bring up threats that the vehicle would face outside of the game when talking about a vehicle not in the game to point out the fact that your document was full of shit?
