The Original turret for the Panther II was a wooden mockup. I’m aware the Ausf F turret and G turret existed. There ingame after all and in the real world.
Which is why his comments get marked and hidden. For being rather dumb in comparison. War Thunder isn’t real life it is a video game. Some people need to go touch grass and figure out the difference. From fiction and the real world.
i think it should come back a part of an event cause even though it wouldn’t really work and wasn’t made its pretty cool and still used in the tutorial
I know this is a fairly old thread but I totally agree with you.
It seems like all the people who claim the Panther II, Flakpanzer 341 and Tiger II 10,5 should NEVER return, are the same people who either have them and are their most played German vehicles. This would be gatekeeping in a sense.
It simply is not fair to players, old or new, who maybe didn’t have time or simply were not playing the game at the time, OR even the German TT for that matter.
I don’t think that they should return (except maybe the flakpanzer because it was atleast a wooden mockup), because they don’t follow the modern rules for vehicle additions.
I’d rather have old event vehicles come back than them too tbh.
Pretty much nothing of Top Tier (Abrams, Merkava, F-15 etc.) follows those Rules, so why should they apply to the three German Tanks? Especially since this rule seems to be flexible enough to allow them to stay at all, for their owners. All or nobody.
The thing is, if they are going to add the flakpanzer 341, the should just add back the Panzer II and Tiger 10,5. And if they want to stick to the rules “no adding fake vehicles”. This should have been the last time and let the people who missed out for whatever reason, get them.
It just sucks in general for collectors, new players, old players who missed it, etc.
Flakpanzer 341 isn’t fake like the other 2. I’ve got no issues with it returning as it’s a partial prototype.
The issue with the Panther II and Tiger 105 are Gaijin made them fake by combining multiple projects that had nothing to do with those vehicles. So a historical Panther II would be fine coming back to the game as a partial prototype. The Tiger 105 is harder, because even if they tried to make it more historical that’s still a paper tank.
Fair point. But then what should gaijin do about the players with those vehicles? Would they keep the original modeled Tiger II 10,5 and Panther II, or would they update the model kinda like they did with the CV90105.
Personally I’d just rename them to something like Tiger II 105 (Gaijin) and Panther II (Gaijin) then let the players who own them keep them.
You could put Maus and 341 into the tech tree again permanently then offer the fake tanks as alternating seasonal vehicles. Like the Maus is currently. Then add 1 or 2 historical Panther II’s into the tech tree.
