So I was wondering if the Tornado F.3 Late is flyable now after the minor decompression of the 13.0 to 14.0 bracket with 14.3 having been added ensuring it doesn’t have to compete with planes like the Eurofighter or the Rafale anymore (as it will never see them.)
And while admittedly I am not the best pilot in the F.3 itself at 12.0, I find that its a rather enjoyable plane to fly compared to the terrible Phantoms that are using weapons found an entire BR lower than them up at 12.0 with terrible radars for the BR when compared to the F.3’s radar.
My stats after 100 battles in it are at least okay in it.
So yes, back to the question: Is the F.3 Late at 13.0 flyable now or should I wait for the BR brackets to increase to 14.7/15.0 before spending the time to fly it out? My experience in the F.3 itself has given it the crown of being my favourite 12.0 jet to fly and made it my second favourite Rank 7 plane to fly next to the Gripen.
Long answer - You only get 4 ARH missiles giving you a maximum of 4 chances to get kills, and Aim-9M’s seem at least to me lately very useless as they getting flaired constantly even at closer ranges by people who didn’t pre-flair once.
You still on a barely useable bus of an airframe, slow turn rate makes notching alot harder then say all the FA-18’s and SU30MK2’s you will meet in every match and they all carry way more missiles then you, usually between 6-12 missiles on better airframes.
Four ARHs is something I am used to considering the Gripen doesn’t get more and the Eurofighter only gets 6, however I acknowlege that they are also far superior flight platforms. I’m not too bothered with Su-30s as they are only dangerous below 15km with the R-77s,
It’s good if you like Tornados but it’s definitely not meta. I love my Tornado F3 and I’m slowly working towards the F3 Late. However, it should be on par with the F4F ICE if not a little bit better, and it’s pretty decent for its BR if you understand the capabilities of your enemies and your own loadout.
