Subject: Is the T58 and Turm III a little too strong at 8.3?
Hello everyone,
I wanted to start a discussion about the T58 and its closest counterpart, the Turm III.
Honestly, I think these tanks might be a bit too effective for a Battle Rating (BR) of 8.3, and they should probably be moved up. They seem to perform a little too well and consistently dominate matches at this level.
I’m not sure if this is just my own impression, or if others are feeling the same way, so I wanted to ask the community: What do you all think? Do you find the T58 and Turm III to be balanced at 8.3, or should their BR be adjusted?
Sure - give the Turm III the same sabot the Falcon has, and by all means punt that thing to 9.0.
For the T58, really we just need global un-nerfing of HESH and HEAT/HEATFS, which were neutered to their current state all the way back in 1.67 and 1.71 to protect the then-new IS-6 premium. Make both of those work well again and the T58 can easily go up. So can the M103 its based on.
T58 is fine at 8.3 fun to play but fine at 8.3 it lacks a stab and only has low velocity ammunition and no laser range finder its armor is ok as long as they don’t know how to aim its reload rate of 2.6sec is good for punishing those pz2000s and the hesh is good on it
You forgot it didn’t get a laser range finder and learn to shoot better should aim for the area where the gard and the barrel meet only 90mm there will destroy the breach makeing it a easy kill and if hull down use hesh on the roof will kill breach or ammunition
idk dude being able to one shot everything and bounce every shot it takes is kinda busted. Not to mention the 2.8 second reload if u somehow whiffed ur first shot
if you rely on lazer rangefinders its a skill issue. WTs normal engagement range is never really more than 1400m which is doable by eye with accuracy to a few metres for even mediocre tankers
arguably all the best tanks of that BR dont have a LRF to be seen.
the barrel guard protecting the breech is small and very angled. you cant balance the game on a player with good aim.
“hit”
unironically saying to use HESH is quite funny must say.
youre only susceptable to HEAT and darts from what is mostly vehicles you see in uptiers. on your turret, and the hull is mostly empty space so who cares about that.
If it’s not stabilized then how you get shot if you get don’t push it wait for it to move then kill it or flank it but don’t just rush it of course you will get blown up what did you expect it’s a 155mm gun
As it is it’s not a 9.0 tank no way no how it’s not a 8.7 either at 9.0 it will face 10.0 at 8.7 it will face 9.7 it’s not abile to effectively pen any composite armor with heat or hesh learn its weakness then exploit it and if you can’t then just shot at it with smoke if possible then flank or whatever you think works
It isnt stabilize but it is stable at low speed. As long as you don’t hold down the W key then the gun won’t bounce around that hard. It’s similar to the american T34 or Tiger II. They arent stabilized but the gun still handle very well.
Did you try to aim right under the barrel there is a flat plate of armor that is only 90mm thick aim there or flank at range you have APDS use it it’s hard to use at ranges greater than 800m keep moving he will struggle to hit you or just use a geperd spray apds under the barrel I’ve died a lot to geperds you can pen it with it at 500m
I’m going to sleep see you tomorrow
I know from the somua to blast the hull. they are just an obnoxiously undertiered vehicle for me to see in a mk3 centurion. In a chieftain mk10 however its much more fair
Turm III is easy to kill, but it’s a fast stabilized 105mm APDS tank with a 30mm coaxial cannon which is cool.
The T58 is harder to kill, and the 3 second reload is best in class.
Turm a bit more agile but thats to be expected. T58 isn’t stabilized but this isn’t an issue with a 3 second reload.
T58 will go up in BR, but in years, and will still be good. The Somua experienced the same thing. Turm might also go up in the future, but not before the T58.
BTW, if you shoot the buldge in the back, does it detonate the ammo? In-game says theres nothing there but it’s clearly hitting something.
