I can no longer endure the 11.3 BR’s environment; it is exceedingly challenging to achieve victory while stuck with newbies who bring only a single premium tank. As a result, I am contemplating returning to a lower BR bracket. Soviet 8.7 seems like a good option, but I need to inquire about the tank’s effectiveness at this BR, particularly the T-55AM1, which is a prominent pack vehicle.I am very interested in purchasing it; do you think this pack tank’s performance justifies the purchase?
I’d pick TO-55 over T-55AM1 personally; granted only T-55AM1 is on sale at this time.
Back when T-55AM1 and Chieftain were the primary 8.7/8.3s they were strong, but ever since they’ve been powercrept and the T-55AM1 especially.
An APFSDS round worse than the Chieftain’s APDS round.
ATGMs that require gun depression.
And a HEATFS round that’s… HEATFS.
It has composite add-on armor though.

Russia’s 8.7 lineup is strong and it is an effective tank at this BR.
If you wish to play Russia then this is one of the best premiums to compliment a tech tree at this BR.

When I played with T-55AM1 I mostly used APHE or whatever it is. ATGM is good against helicopters.

8.7 USSR get alot of constant downtiers,
T-55AMD-1 is the perfect balance of vehicle in my opinion, not fast enough but decent but also at the same time well armored,
With the T-55AM-1 you’ll get obviously more armor with no, surprisingly, no weight changes.
But, just get something that you’ll be able to grind the entire Soviet tech-tree.
I’d recommend picking premium account over vehicle account, if you have a entire lineup for determinated BR, you’ll be able to grind more than a single premium vehicle.
I may be wrong but with the same price as T-55AM-1, you can buy around 90 days of premium.

It’s a very good vehicle, the best Soviet 8.7 tank and one of the best 8.7’s overall.
