That seems like a stretch no?
Irl I would still bet on the F-22 though, because stealth and weapon range does matter a lot when it comes to air superiority. But the comparison doesn’t make that much sense since the F-22 is meant for absolute air supremacy and is extremely expensive while the Su-57 is a multirole aircraft that is much cheaper.
No where close to a stretch… I’ll DM you the off-topic stuff.
it is not DCS is not the end all be all
once you look into how radars and missiles work in DCS you will understand
it depends on the module, across most modules yes the radars are pretty inconsistent (mirage f1 being egregious with no ground) but some modules like the mirage or f-15e or the f-4 have some pretty amazing radar modeling. ir modeling is pretty horrendous tho being rng
I agree that they are incorrect, but not all in the same way or to the same level.
Me too. There is just currently no way to be sure. The Su 57 is faster and has a few other benefits but I don’t believe that it is better overall. No single aspect wins a battle. It’s the sum of all aspects.
The U.S should have never dismantled the F-22 assembly line as it may have even been better than the F-35
Faster in what way?
The max speed on paper is higher I believe. Whether or not it actually is or not I’m unsure.
I was mixing up my stats. The Su 57 is faster than an F 35 but both are slower than an F 22 (at least on paper)
it does not
they are forced to use the DCS API and arrent alowed to do the guidance logic for missiles
the more a modul tries to model the actual radar the more at a disadvantege it is
The massive combat data collected when the F22 shot down the balloon clearly shows it’s better.
The F-47 is on its way to replace gradually the F-22, and we have yet to know what monstruosity it’s gonna be. I would’ve trusted Skunk Works better but hopefully Boeing won’t disappoint us
Anyway my heart will always belong to 3rd and 4th gen fighters
they did acquire MDD (F-4, F-15) and Boeing did help with the F-22
Yeah, the F-47 is a huge unknown. Boeings track record lately isn’t great. Canards!? I am intrigued.
Canards are known to increase the frontal rcs, which would be awkward for this kinda of fighter jet… I don’t know, we’ll have to see I guess. They’re the engineers after all
boeing military track record is quite good, the only subpar weapon theyve produce recently is the glsdb, and it was simply a matter of weakness to jamming
The current theory kicking around in the U.S is that Boeing was only awarded the contract because their commercial jet failures and starship failures were pushing them closer to serious financial difficulties or even chapter 11 bankruptcy and that this contract is essentially a bailout (Allegedly, not in my opinion but in some other expert opinions)
Its more likely that the us didnt want to go all in on lockheed, its not good for the competitiveness of the product, by giving the contract to boeing they can retain competition between companies ensuring they actually try to make a good product.
To be fair Lockheed is currently working on a series of mods to the F35 which are being referred to as NASCAR upgrades. Hopefully there is a market for them.
