F-35A is actually a fairly potent fighter in its own right. While it’ll have trouble with the “top dog” from the USA, it has performance at minimum equal to all Gen 4.5+ aircraft, and is superior to a number of them. F-35B and C are the ones that will have a harder time. When F-35A is loaded for A2A missions and not using all of the internal fuel tank space (because it carries a massive amount) it has very high TWR and excellent agility. Even with two internal thousand pound JDAMs and missiles it can manage 1:1 TWR and still have fuel to fly, and break the sound barrier.
I’ve also heard pilot testimony that the F-35A is capable of post stall maneuvering (yet to see proof though).
Well in strait up dog fight the Euro fighter has a big advantage over the F-35 not to mention its air frame and twin engines. Overall Eurofighter platform is better than the F-35 despite the F-35 having a lower radar signature.
