And I think it would be wise to just assume that both aircraft prefom the same, and not under or over estimate the abilities of either aircraft,

since ingame they would preform nearly identical if played in a similar manner, due to modeling and ingame stats

we literally fought over this, the kill was indeed by a r37m but it was a 177km not a 217km kill

you can see your missile on datalink.
So when your missile disapears from datalink, close to the jet you fired on and the target starts to decelarate and logically also droping in altitude, you can be sure you killed him

based on for example, closure rate as you can see on the video and other videos like firing r77

feel free to include a source or a proper explaination as to why this is not the case
the only other possiblity is TTI which is still not range and the original point stands, the missile was not fired at the range of 217km nor is the indicator on right a range indicator
