Isn’t the Su-57 still a work in progress? This is not a fair comparison.
It’s work in progress, yes, but it’s still a production vehicle ready for operational use.
You’re right, it’s slightly above and closer to the F-35 in specs
personally the things the 22 has over the 57 are stealth, number of internal missiles, IR missile quality, and number of airframes
in most other comparisons, the 57 does take the lead (considering its maximum stated specifications)
assuming the 9X is not actually allergic to the AL-21 lmao
Both sit around the same -11dbm^2 - -16dbm^2 average frontal RCS.
Both aircraft have 8 internal hardpoints.
R-74M2 is AIM-9X-II equiv
This is a topic of merit, not subjective figures that can change at a whim.
Having 1000 or 10 aircraft has no effect on how one single variant may perform.
this one is also in terrible shape with exposed panels tbf xD
Fine, here’s a relatively new one
It still means nothing, as exposed screws have negligible / no effect on RCS.
Hell… even that atrocious lip on the upper surface of the intake would pose no issue.
i personally havent looked into that so i will stay silent on this currently
i actually didnt know that, i thought the 57 only had 6
edit, after checking… it does only have 6 internal HPs lol
debatable but im open to discussion
it is related in how tested a platform is.
personally i love the 57 more than the 22 but like it is with software, the more its used the less buggy it remains
then fair enough if these have no effect
Source on this? By the quick look it jumps between 5 to 8 (6 in 2 missiles bays and +2 R-73s in smaller ones near landing gears)
idk i dont think you can fit 8 missiles in there
EDIT:
so yeah its confirmed as 6
what the hell are those missiles anyway???
the centerline looks too much like the MICA and the side bays seem to be holding the K-30 lmao
Both are just photoshops, actual photos of internal bays of su-57 don’t exist in public
i think theyre real lol
no reason to hide the internal bays as even the F-22, 35 and Su-47s internal bays are public
They’re too small, Raleigh scattering negated any harmful returns.
To be completely fair the latest production Su-57s do appear to make less extensive use of RAM paint or coatings. Perhaps they are not wasting resources at the moment and waiting for the mid life overhauls on Su-57M instead of spending more now on soon to be obsolete variants.
For things like R-77-1s, yes. The R-77M, however, can fit 6 internally.
Think of it like the 120C-3 vs 120B
How so?
You can quite literally see a configuration with 8 missiles in these images… x2 R-73 in both small weapons bays and x6 R-77Ms.
What’s 6 + 2?
Mb didn’t see the third missile in each bay
