Military tech wise Russia and the USSR are practically the same; hell Russia’s entire arms industry is built off of Soviet things. Sometimes the upgrades from Russia turn out to be worse than the Soviet original versions of the same upgrades. It’s kinda wild.

Specifically replace the German and Russian flags with the Imperial flags. They are the best versions for their respective nations and you all know it!
Precisely why i don’t see an issue with standardizing the nation flags all to a time peirod.
My preferable choice is modern. You can point back to time places in history for that nation to get machines but there is a standard place in time for the flags. I don’t think anyone would argue that USSR was a large part of Russian History and I also believe if USSR can have the tech it can have the flag.
Yes it was other nations aswell but anyone saying XYZ Soviet design doesn’t belong to Russian TT is just being contentious.
Maybe it could change based on the vehicle you have selected? If you have a Mig-15 selected, it shows the USSR flag, but if you have the T-90M selected, it shows as the Russian flag.
I like that. Only problem i see is you have wierd line ups with certain nations Germany a prime example with the M109 at 6.0.
Yes, because these vehicles/modifications were made (put in service) in Russia.
I just don’t see why it should be changed especially in the case of USSR. Similar case would be with potential Yugoslavia tech tree, the original Yugoslav flag would make more sense than Serbian.
I’d like to see every vehicle with its correct flag, even if it means “Germany” in a 8.0 match happens to be the DDR, Nazi Germany, and Argentina. Just show all 3 flags.

That’s fair point. I think it would make sense for modern updated flags but that’s matter of opinion.
1: There is no “Korean” client, there was a Chinese Client(Defunct), DMM(Japanese), and International Clients.
2: The Battle Flag Of Japan started in the Edo Period, 1870.
3: Korea was annexed back in 1910. Till 1945. Give you a hint a lot of Older Korean folks->stare at that flag remembering the dark past, despite what history says. Which is ignored over emotions. When the flag appears.
4: I see no reason why it should magically be “updated” Rather the flags should be done with both eras in mind such as the WW2 IJ Battle Flag/the Current Modern version of the Japanese Hinomaru Flag despite the flag being over 156 years of age.
I really shouldn’t have to give a history lecture cause all it takes is 1 Google search to figure this stuff out.

Japan maybe since current flag was only a military one, but no for USSR and Germany. The tech tree flag should be the one that most vehicles in the tech tree use, which are the current flags used. Plus USSR tree will likely receive some vehicles from post soviet countries and i really don’t see ukrainian vehicles going well under a tech tree with Ru flag…

That’s a fair point I didn’t think of. I guess i just figured other post nations would eventually get their own TT. I could see a large displeasment though. If/when they do add a machines such as that if they don’t rework the TT and put RU fed in it’s own sub tree seperating it from other post nation sub trees.
