Is Aces of Thunder the death of WT Air Sim?

I’m wondering how long they will keep AoT going for with numbers like these.

And since they recently changed the matchmaking to look for atleast one other player before starting a match the queue times are ridiculous.

(This is real, I’ve been in the queue for over half an hour now. Curious to see how long it will go for.)

45 minutes and 57 seconds.

It’s insane that they don’t have crossplay with ps5 from the beginning.
Plus there are no tutorials as it seems…

So what was the target audience? The 10 remaining veteran WT Sim Players? IL2 Players? VTOL Players?

Maybe SIM will get some love after they bury this thing

Doubtful, it seems that all their effort for Sim has gone into this game for the past 3 years and seeing how bad this game has done I think they will believe that just no one is interested in Sim rather than people aren’t interested and a poorly done spin-off game.

Aces of Thunder has Modern Jets like the Flanker, Gripen, F-16, Eurofighter, and F-15?

No, just 25 WW2 planes (20 for standard edition) and 4 WW1 planes.

Oh. Is the low tier community of Sim really that big?

There’s quite a few low tier Sim players.

AoT was originally marketed as essentially VTOL VR but WW2, then they added some WW1, then it became available to play on flatscreen making it just low tier Sim but as it’s own game. And now it’s flopped because it’s riddled with issues.

If it was actually like vtol vr it would so much bigger of a hit than the flop that it currently is.
Wish you could play with all the instruments in aot like you can in vtolvr

If it even had even a percent of the care from the devs that VTOL VR does it would be great.

But this is Gaijin here so AoT was most likely just 3 guys locked in a room being fed food through a hole in the wall and Monster from a hamster bottle for a few years to produce this slop.

Gaijin truly are incompetent. I wanted to like this game and there is a good VR game beneath it all but the dogshit UI, terrible multiplayer structure, lack of crossplay, giving flat screen players the finger for a week and their incomprehensibly stupid decision to not start out as am early access game, ruining the reputation from day 1 is just frustrating.

But you know, I’ve been playing sim for a while and it shouldn’t surprise me to see these devs act like aliens.

Airfield AI fighters that crash and never take off again, broken active/inactive player displays, bombers that never return, convoy SPAA with aimbot-level accuracy, ghost rooms/lobbies, and completely useless altimeters and attitude indicators.
These bugs were reported years ago. But was Gaijin deliberately ignoring them while developing Aces of Thunder? And then it turns out to be total garbage…
That’s unbelievably arrogant, right?

I hope so. These devs have become fat on the success of the past and have just totally given up doing anything different or knew on top of their biases.
Soon another tank game will come and that will kill the tank side of it.

Entire 10.0 to top is dead. Matches taking 10 minutes or more to queue. Cheaters running rampant with zero being done about it.

I hope it kills the game then maybe they will wake up but then its too late.
