Cause thats how it is in the game aswell. The TTs on wiki copy the game TTs.
Told you already - it is foldered in the 1944 IS-2

I thought gaijin can’t possibly get any more greedier, yet here we are, selling decals as packs for wiki update
EDIT: OMG, its old topic, and i just thought its something new…
It’s not a wiki. Not any more.
A wiki is a collaboratively edited hypertext site. The thing called “War Thunder Wiki 3.0” is a shiny vendor-maintained media site with some social media-type features, and that may accept user-submitted articles. But collaborative editing? Gone, gone, gone.
Completely agreed.
Old war thunder wiki was so much better, new wiki is barely usable. No vehicle history, external links, info on shells and weapon systems and in general the things that we loved. The new wiki is pratically a downgrade.
#Bringbacktheoldwiki
The old wiki lacks sort by BRs as well as improved search functionality.
Info on shells and weapon systems are currently on the new wiki:
There’s even missile statcards:
Spoiler

come on Gaijin
(yes I have refreshed the page and re-logged in)
the wiki still misses the information how many countermeasures an aircraft carrys internaly
Also lacks proper Flaps speed limits…
It is also very much a step back, in regards to the information of armour on ground vehicles. Now it is only the armour thickness listed on the statcard, where before it had the different armour plate thickness with the angle of the armour plates.
Old:

New:

The thing I am constantly reminded of with the new wiki, is how much information it is lacking compared to the old wiki. And a lot of that information is fully visible on the old wiki, but not anywhere on the new one.
At the same time, i really miss the more detailed pages for the weaponry, such as tank cannons, missiles and bombs etc., where there were typically more detailed information of the weaponry visible compared to the individual vehicle pages.
I just want to bump this to say we’re now in 2026 and there’s been barely any changes, contrary to what the devs have told us.
Why am I having to use the old wiki to see detailed armour and ammo rack information, the new wiki tells me nothing that I can’t find in the game already. It’s still useless.
If you really need this system then please call it something else and keep the real (old) wiki alongside, this new one isn’t even a wiki by the definition of the word: “a website or database developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content.”
new wiki is a copypaste of the statcard.
only useful imo for findin the max repair cost of a vehicle you didn’t spade yet
Tbh, I still go onto the old wiki a lot.
Stuff like the page for Ballistic Computer, or the pages for weaponry for the different vehicles, is stuff i use a lot, but don’t exist on the new wiki.
It is nice to have a table, where you can see what aircraft have what kind of ballistic computer. If it was not for that table, i wouldn’t have known the A21A-3 have CCRP.
The same with the weapon pages, where you can figure out for example what aircraft have small rockets, for something like battle pass missions. Or just getting a whole ordered list of the different cannons on tanks for the individual nations. Like many probably don’t realise that there is a couple of French tanks that is using the MG151 as a secondary weapon, a German WW2 aircraft cannon.
There is a whole lot of useful stuff that will become lost when the old wiki will get shut down, that the new wiki will not be able to have, just because of the way it is not a true wiki.
Yep. The ‘new’ one is so bad that it’s shameful that Gaijin chose to publish it. It’s absolutely useless.
Yeah other than looks the old wiki was far superior.
No historic information and hardly any useful information outside what you can also check in the game.
Would anyone be opposed to starting our own wiki on a separate domain? We can certainly keep all the articles on the old wiki that risk being lost forever.
I don’t see why it would breach any rules but I’ll take a look.
I have asked on the forums previously if there is anyone who knows how to download a full and complete snapshot/mirror of the old wiki. I’m not a dev, I only know how to click “save page as” on my browser for a single page 😂 And even then the resulting save folder/link doesn’t always work correctly like the live page does.
Or even if the dev’s could provide us with a link to the full “directory” of the old wiki I would be very greatly appreciative so that I could at least archive it myself for my own use.
There are a handful of specific sections of the old Wiki that I still use often, like the Scouting page because it shows all the vehicles that can scout, due to the fact that not only light thnks can scout. There are a handful of spg’s and spaas that can scout and it impossible to see this information on the new wiki. The only way is to go into the game manually and click through every single vehicle to see if it has the “improved Optics” modification.
I have asked for this very useful information to be duplicated on to the new wiki, but as of yet there has been no additional information added to the new Wiki that duplicates this section on the old wiki.
See the tech tree view at the bottom: https://old-wiki.warthunder.com/Scouting
This might be what you’re looking for, it’s formatted in typical wiki markdown so it should be easy to port over: View source for Scouting - War Thunder Wiki
On a wiki page look for the “view source” link. The basis of a wiki (especially on this old software) means this is open source and re-use shouldn’t be penalised for.
Btw, I think the new wiki has improved in some ways, which may not be easily evident. So for example now one sees all structural limits of aircraft, when it was introduced that was very limited.
Yes but money for authors. :)
(Which could also have been something added befor.)
