Introducing War Thunder Wiki 3.0!

what else do you need other than a search function to find a post about the topic you want?

They didn’t get replaced, noone wrote new articles on them yet. Give it some time to catch up.

I think they also have not transferred all content yet.

Just a couple of suggestions of stuff that can be added to the collection section:

4 other suggestions for features to sort by would maybe be ‘Arrestor gear’, ‘Flare/Chaff’, ‘RATO rockets’ and ‘Drogue Parachute’.

Would also be nice to see the possibility to exclude vehicles with the features, so you search up vehicles without that specific feature.

Also!

Limited WEP and how long it lasts…

It’s amazing we have such a crucial feature that’s not mentioned either in-game or the new forums and you got to discover it yourself mid dogfight as your engine power suddenly cuts out on a new aircraft you began practicing with

Idea:
simply just bring back the old wiki.

I actually like the design but too much useful information is missing.
There is no historical section, there are now some useless articles that only mess with you when you just want to scroll to the bottom of the page where the info you want would usually be.
Suspended armaments are now hidden because I guess they take too much space? Doesn’t matter that it’s very important info for an aircraft, better hide it… -.-

When you click on a missile you get basic info on it…stuff you can already see in the game, but when I open the wiki, that’s not what I want to see, I want to see pro’s and con’s of the missile, even if it’s half wrong as usual, it gives me a general idea. I want to see for let’s say Swedish missiles what are they derivatives of?

Just now I had to open the old wiki to look up the missile because the ones in the new wiki don’t have links or info for any of that on the aircraft page.

While I am still not yet fully satisfied with the new Wiki, I wanted to say I appreciate you checking up on the comments and feedback posted here on the forums and helping communicate between the players and devs. I hope we can get the new wiki into a state that (almost 😂) everyone is pleased with 👍

It really is missing a ton of information, the old one should have remained available whilst this one at least gets all the basic information added.

overall, I like the old wiki more because it has a lot more info (playstyle in different gamemodes, pros/cons, etc.) the only things that I like about the new wiki is the compare option and the overall nicer UI

So far on my poll 63% of people want the old wiki back, 22% of people want to be able to edit the old wiki again but are fine with keeping the new wiki and only 15% want the new wiki.
Gaijin pls listen and bring back the old wiki

And again, please let them tweak, finish and complete the new wiki first! Data from the old still needs to be transferred, additional functions like search etc. implemented.

Genuinely, why introduce it if it’s so unfinished and incomplete?
Such a weird thing to do and a guaranteed way to get a load of push back about it too, clearly

So, I contributed to the old wiki and would like to start contributing to the new wiki as well. But, as I kind of feel burned right now, with a lot of information, representing the work of lots of folks, not migrated (yet??), I would like to get a better idea of the plan before I spend a lot of time on something that may or may not be useful in the future.

One thing that’s particularly on my mind, because I referenced it a lot on the old wiki, is ammo loading info for ground vehicles. I even contributed to a couple of articles myself, when new vehicles came out.

So, would there be any point to my starting work on brief articles on that topic for things like the new M44, which obviously is not in old-wiki, or is that just going to be more effort down the drain?

This might sound more negative than I intend, and I’m sorry about that, but honestly, if you call something a “wiki”, that pretty much implies a certain level of community contribution, and that’s not really feeling all that valued or respected to me right now in the shiny new 3.0.

After the new wiki came out, I almost never actually used it. I always search up the old wiki. There isn’t anything on the new wiki that I cannot find through simply using the statcard or X-ray view. In essence, it’s completely useless.

Exactly. Even if we will never officially get the old wiki back, editing should be turned back on in the old wiki.

The new “wiki” ain’t even a wiki. It is a literal social media app. The articles are not “articles”, just a crappy version of the stat card. All useful info has been removed or dispersed into stupid posts which take a long time to find(if you can even find them at all). Yet again, the old wiki’s similarity to wikipedia was really useful. I have no idea why the new wiki even exsists as nobody needed or wanted it. The old wiki looked nice and was useful.

Same here lol

#Bringbacktheoldwiki (good news, 67% have voted for bring back the old wiki completely, 21% for allowing editing(and test drive) on old wiki while keeping new wiki and 12% to ditch the old wiki)

At first glance I thought the wiki was cool but after trying my hardest to get to know it it’s worthless to me.

Where’s the proper guidance on a new vehicle? Ammo racks? Actual articles? I don’t care what people rate it, that means nothing to me, there’s no control group and literally any player could be rating a vehicle.

I hope you don’t take down the old wiki anytime soon because that’s the first place I go after researching something.

This should’ve been done before release IMO. Surely it went through beta stages, why has it gone live? There’s nothing I can find on there that isn’t already in a statcard.

I don’t mean to be rude but it’s not worth opening.

To further expand on troubles in regards to the collection filter, the filter for Ballistic Computer feels nearly worthless, since it doesn’t differentiate the difference between CCRP, CCIP rockets, CCIP bombs or CCIP for guns. So it really needs to be divided up into more specific categories.

Same thing can probably also be said about Radar/Optical Detection, because there is quite a good amount of early jets have only a Radar Gunsight, but not search radar, or some aircraft that only have search radar, without the ability to lock onto enemy aircraft (examples of this would be aircraft such as the P-61C-1 or Do 217 N-2).

I would also like to see that there will be an ability to select a tag that covers all event vehicles at once, instead of you having to go through select every single event individually in the collections category.

Would also be nice to have a indicator of which premium vehicles are available on the Gaijn market.

One last thing that i hope you are planning to do, is to sort the collections, such that they are either sorted chronologically or alphabetically. Currently the way it is sorted feels like a jumbled mess, so it is hard to find a specific update/event/manufacture.

Very nice for beginners

What was premature was releasing a seriously incomplete product that STILL shows no signs of getting any better :(
