Say what you will but I have a feeling more people in the playerbase at large would be happy with a return of the region lock than the small unrepresentative sampling of forum regulars.

The behavior of the mainland China playerbase is practically a meme now.

One of many.
On the other hand I’ve developed strong friendships with people from china who are, despite the shock some may experience reading this, normal people.
A lot of us and a lot of them. Outliers exist.

I got 2 of my posts hidden on a chinese thread cause i said stop being political and that japan has constant reminders of shit they did in ww2

and that theres japanese tanks in the CN tree but japanese players such as myself dont really care so why the PRC players get special privilages

Don’t think you need such.

Just a simple case of relative playernumbers and greed combine sufficiently.

You can observe this in other games censoring or removing things that are illegal or culturally unpopular in China when they try to sell to mainlanders just like they do if they try to sell to Russia, southern U.S or Hungary or similar.

I like companies that have a backbone and refuse to censor/remove such concepts even if it leads to loss of sales. Alas, you’re only likely to find such in the AA or indie spheres.
