That thing has to be unbelievably OP, since it’s better than some of the best 10.7 planes.
I’m fairly sure Gaijin has explicitly stated that they have no plans for a ground only mode too.

Better missiles? Check
Better engines? Check
More countermeasures? Check
Same BR as the F-5A and F-5C? Check
BUT!!! It doesn’t get Bullpups, so it must be fair!
Strange logic. TO game mode is not meant as replacement but as addition. So whoever wants to use air assets in GRB can still do it and buy premium vehicles/time.
Players which use planes and helis in GRB are mostly using their game modes to grind them. I know I don’t grind planes in GRB but ARB.
I’m not sure how that is strange logic when you have people that wouldn’t touch anything that isn’t a tank. As dumb as this might sound, giving people the option to play a ground-only mode carries the risk of less people buying premium helis and planes and less premium time being sold.
There is more of an incentive to buy premium planes and helis when there is no ground-only mode. That’s what it boils down to. They want to make you buy as many vehicles as possible.
The only reason why helis are in this game in the first place is because they work in the ground battles setting (and might work in the naval setting one day), similarly there are a lot of CAS planes that only really make sense in combined arms modes.
If there was a proper way to let people play ground vehicles, ships and helis in air battles, there is a large chance that Gaijin would have included them in air battles.
You need to read again what I wrote.
You wrote that ground units could be incorporated into ARB.
Its strange because if you said “when you have people that wouldn’t touch anything that isn’t a tank” why would those people buy any premium plane/heli regardles to TO existing or not.
There is no incentive for “people that wouldn’t touch anything that isn’t a tank” to even buy premium time if they don’t enjoy game enough.
Maybe because that’s a direct counterpart of TO ?
You definitely could add tanks in ARB though, although it wouldn’t be as simple as creating TO.
Never crossed your mind that maps can be decreased in size ?
CAS aircraft should make sense in air modes, otherwise the mode itself is incredibly unbalanced.
You just proved the latter is the case.
Do tell me if I’m wrong, but haven’t Gaijin said once there won’t be any modern missiles/jets in the game ?
Guess what we have now lmao.
@Ion_Protogen
I have a same question for you as for the poster above.
I’d say testing a TO for like a week with super arty taking the role of cas would be interesting. (Specifically for spawn campers)
And having tanks/heli’s in air rb isn’t that hard to make. Just replace 2 convoys with player controlled ones. Put a minimum limit of 2 spaa per convoy and have both teams convoys meet after about 5-10 minutes. (Perhaps also fix the spotting system while were at it so A.I. Cant spot players).
For entertainment for actual tanks, Add AT guns and pillboxes along their destination so it’s less likely they’ll bah haw their way across the map.
Legend <3
Why would anything need to take the role of CAS ?
People are asking for TO for not having something like CAS especially super arty…
Mainly for spawn campers, campers or a downtiered maus. idk. (The super arty would be visable on the map and have somewhat of a counterplay instead of just getting domed by a bomb)
Perhaps costing sp to send it as well?
You don’t need anything like that to work against everything You have said
Spawn camping should be dealt with using map design, not some weird mechanics.
Downtiered Maus still has plenty of counters on the ground, so need for advanced arty doesn’t make sense to me.
Well, its just an idea. Still TO mode for a week is cool if it happens.
Interesting how only Ground has to have some weird power-ups to “deal” with tanks.
It’s a “if you can’t beat em, join em” situation.
Of course you cannot force people to buy helis, planes or premium time, but you can incentivize them to do so. The people that wouldn’t touch anything that isn’t a tank have to deal with aircraft in combined arms battles, so they are more likely to look into buying planes and/or helis even if they only really care about tanks.
I know that’s probably not what’s actually happening, but that’s how a business would likely see it.
But its not if you state “they wouldn’t touch anything but a tank”. Why would anyone spend real money on something he wont use?
People are bad at the game and need “power ups” to not feel upset about it
