I never said Russia was “underdeveloped”, that’s an entirely different discussion. Making good thermal imagers are hard and they are not cheap even when you can make them.
So, before the sanctions hit Russia imported French Cathering IR images en-mass. The situation certainly hasn’t improved since then, given that we’ve seen footage from Russian thermal imagers. You don’t hit combine harvesters and then claim they’re leopards if you have good quality thermal imagers.
Even if, by some miracle, they manage to build an excellent quality thermal imager, they most certainly wouldn’t put it onto a missile for a single use. It makes no logical sense whatsoever.
You’re also ignoring the fact that it’s own marketing brochure shows values for the contrast which are… poor to say the least. That’s the best case scenario.

Most of them are probably the sweaty campers with their tanks covered in 6 bushes, sitting in ridiculous spots on the map that render them almost invisible so they can kill people with impunity - but when it happens to them via a plane? Stop it! no!
This other guy who’s head I’m rent free in has now created himself a massive dilemma - he thinks he’s annoying me by saying CAS is now useless, but that means he can no longer complain about CAS. This guy is gonna have a complete identity crisis lmao. I wonder how he’ll justify complaining about the next plane that kills him in GRB.

I’m not surprised that you think people in ground vehicles can kill you in a ground vehicle with impunity given your average performance in them. I imagine anyone could kill you with anything with perceived impunity.
You aren’t even particularly good in the A4E given you’re barely managing a 1:1 K/D against ground targets so I don’t know why you’re trying to act smug given such a dismal performance in something that outclasses most SPAA it sees.
neither am I, I’ve played the game on and off for 10+(?) years and only played for fun. Never metawhored, never grinded events, I play for fun. Most games I W key forward to get to the action as fast as possible. Don’t own a single bush, only vehicle I’ve ever bought is centurion avre. Unglue your eyes from numbers on the computer screen and you too can achieve this ‘fun’ I allude to

I’m really not sure how much has changed for them.
Granted Spyder is in a terrible state right now with all it’s bugs, so it might not be the best example to use (but it’s what i’ve experienced so far), and honestly, I don’t really feel like i’m any more of a threat to Heli’s than the AA’s which were already ingame.
They can still sneak up into the deadzone, i’m still very vulnerable to F&F’s, the only real difference is that you only need to see them for a moment to get a missile off, and that should in theory find the target even if they dip back into cover and break lock, whereas a SACLOS needs LOS the entire flight duration. But i’ve noticed Heli’s don’t seem to have a particularly difficult time flaring / IRCM’ing Python, and hovering low is more or less a perfect state of notch / multipath for ARH’s right?
Anyone who’s ever tried taking down a Heli in a jet knows you pretty much have to gun them because IR/ARH aren’t very effective against them, and given all these new AA’s are IR/ARH…

Yeah, I dislike balancing issues too. Fun fact, these SPAAs fixed the balancing issues, hence why I like them.
who said this bro? those words never left my mouth. the only argument I’ve made for CAS is that combined arms is a core part of the game’s identity and that it offers a nice alternative to the monotony of higher tier tank v tank. I think you’re misconstruing my argument as the strawman you created due to a complete absence of anything substantial to add beyond the fact you got sent to hangar by a plane
Whether or not you’re a ‘sweaty gamer’ I have no idea, but I’d assume so based on how angry you are at something that has been in the game for over a decade.

Well, about the Russia’s ability to make thermal imagers, you’re wrong. Let’s just say that the only reason why this argument is still going on is because I’m not like that british guy that leaked classified documentations to win an argument about some tank.
CAS has never been a balancing issue, it’s been a ‘I don’t like the fact I just got killed so let me complain’ issue. CAS balance is only questionable at mid-tier/WW2 era where people simply suck in non-tracking SPAAs
The only issue with CAS is revenge CAS.
