Improve EC in 3 simple and cheap steps

Well it is clear after several major updates with no tangible improvement for Air EC that Gaijin don’t want to invest much resources to refresh this mode.
So what about just 3 very simple yet very effective items that can probably be done in a couple of hours work?

  1. Wen a Air Supremacy Area is contested don’t let it expire after the set time let players fight till capture, it’s one of the best sources of dogfight.

  2. Increase distance at which the friendly Icons appear by a 1.5/2 factor. Human eye has a natural way of zoom over important features like national rounders and insignia that virtual rendering is not currently simulating, this will reduce frustration from Friendly Kills without ruining the fog of war aspect.

  3. Reduce convoys firing accuracy, it is currently almost impossible to destroy for an average player like myself.

I understand that topics like this have been posted before with little to no avail but come-on you had to admit that those are very easy to implement and effective.

  1. I agree.
  2. Ngl, I like how it is currently. Sure, team killing may be an issue. However, if you make it a lot easier to ID teammates, then people that are third partying don’t have the same fear of accidentally team killing, and have to take extra time which I think is a good thing.
  3. IMO it’s fine, but I can see it happening.

Yeah, all 3 points are good. I think number 2 could vary from BR to BR. From 1 to about 9, it shouldnt really be an issue the current ranges, but at top tier, it could be nudged up a little maybe.

Or as an alternative, add some better quick messages for communicating location instead of relying on “follow me” and hoping people know what that means.

in addition to your first point, you could also add a score/reward bonus for A2A kills within the zones, just to make them more worthwhile and have time spent in the zone provide a small reward for every 5-10 seconds spent in the zone, you can spend WAY too long circling to cap those zones and I really see the value of doing so if our team is winning

One thing I’d really love them to do is remove this entirely unnecessarily ‘chat spam’ filter from Sim.

In AB/RB, where you have people spamming attack the D point a million times, sure, whatever. But in Sim. Good lord, the amount of time’s i’ve been unable to share (or receive) genuinely critical information is painful.

Some little tooltips when loading in like explaining why the T-4-1 / ‘Follow Me!’ command is useful, or a brief ‘’[-] bad guy / [=] good guy’’ IFF tutorial text wouldn’t go amiss either.

I’d love this. Especially with stupid map design like Vietnam where redfor a.i objectives are bluefor and vice versa. I spent so much time chasing friendly bombers who refuses to answer that it genuinely just made me alt f4 after zero reply from the fourth guy.

  1. I think the area should be 4-8 times larger for high BR battles. Now the range is so small that both sides have to hover at relatively low speeds. This makes anyone trying to control the area vulnerable to attack. At the same time, the height should also be extended from 5,500 meters to 12,000 meters.

  2. I think fixing the radar IFF symbol and adding IFF question and answer text and related tutorials can solve this problem well.

  3. I don’t think this is a good idea. I think the air defense units behind the front lines should be strengthened. These air defense units must be able to stop any enemy aircraft flying at low altitudes.
