Imported vehicles in sim battles

This could apply for both air and ground sim, but im going to talk about air sim.

Why are some countries able to use various imported/captured vehicles in simulator battles? to me, it seems entirely unrealistic as well as unfair. for example, in 11.7-12.7 tier air-sim battles, germany, china, and russia can all be on the same team, while fighting nato/western countries. logically, these countries would only be able to use their own soviet or chinese jets, rather than using a subtree or imported vehicles from other countries. being in a mig-29 while almost the entire rest of your team are in vehicles like the f-18 and f-16 causes confusion, for both you and the enemy team, which results in making iff a nightmare, especially at longer ranges or in a dogfight. because of this, i think sim battles need a rework, which would only allow soviet countries to use their own jets, while nato/western countries use their own, thus eliminating confusion. if these countries were to be able to play with vehicles in a subtree, like the swiss f-18 or tornado for specifically east germany, they would have to play on the nato side, while west german mig-29s would have to fight on the soviet side.

thats all ive got, this is just something thats been on my mind for a while. if i need to clarify further, pls lmk and ill try to the best of my ability.

Because that’s not why this game or game mode exists.

Not really tbh

The game mode would almost immediately die if Gaijin introduced historically limited matchmaker to Air Sim.

Let me put things into perspective. I went through Statshark and did some basic math; I added the number of games for all of the NATO planes together and compared them with Warsaw Pact / China developed airframes. So in this case the Swiss F-18 was added to the NATO pile and all of the MiG-29s were added to the Warsaw Pact pile.

There were 122,661 games in the 12.7 - 13.0 planes during the month of January that would classify as NATO-only under this arrangement. In the same period of time there was 13,758 games played in planes that would classify as USSR/Warsaw Pact + China. So for every Warsaw pact player in the past month…there would be 8.9 NATO players.

The vast majority of players in this bracket would be shut out of playing the game mode due to lack of population to fly the less popular planes. On top of that the players in the less popular planes would also be maximally outnumbered at any given time.

Who wants to volunteer to flying a single MiG-29 w/ R-60s + 2 R-27ER against roughly 9 different NATO players who will all have sizable qualitative advantages against your plane with the sole exception that the R-27ER is a better SAR-H missile?

Squish you’re wrong. In the great words of Morvran, “team composition doesn’t effect game play.” They just need a redfor premium at 12.7 to encourage more people to play redside.

There are premium MiG-29s.

Why is it so much less popular than the Japanese F-2A? Or the German F-18C?
