I'm not sure I can do it anymore

I’m not sure I can keep going through these “matches” and it is purely the community that is responsible for it.

I mean I play tanks every match is either or a combination of multiple - Lemming trains - 1 death leavers - Flankers going down middle, leaving heavies to go on flanks, heavies going on flanks making flankers go down middle, getting into an aircraft as soon as possible and crashing - not taking spaa when it is most needed etc etc - it’s just too many gaps to have to fill or compensate for.

Aircraft - killstealers - no teamwork even when it is most needed, just cover a friendly and get the kill but they dont - not climbing in a high alt aircraft leaving you to do it instead with a low alt - headon and trading kills despite having opportunity to kill without dying in process - getting airspawn and immediately losing it to go for low alt pointless target - 5 guys chasing bomber and enemy fighters coming in - turn fighting in buses - quite literally doing the most cheap, least constructive things which are detrimental to sucess - again it’s too many gaps to fill or compensate for.

And it is EVERY single match.
It is killing my enthusiasm.
I think playing with bots would be a more productive alternative and more reliable and less enfuriating.
Is this just gaming now?
COD genuinely ruined a generation of gamers.

I had a match a few days ago, I had died in the Tiger E with 3 kills and spawned in my Fw 190 D9, due to there being 4 people in the air. I took out one person and set another on fire, and then a teammate in a Bf-109 F-2 came roaring out of nowhere and went for the flaming guy rather than the two who were directly behind me. Between unreliable teammates who drive in front of me while I’m in the middle of taking care of a spawncamping enemy, to the amount of times I’ve seen entire teams falter literally inches away from a win resulting in me somehow getting more kills in the T-34 than most of my teammates in a 7.7 match.

For a game that requires a lot of skill, this playerbase is really depressing in terms of intelligence.

Add Fortnite to this, though at least that game requires some tactics.

I honestly really hope the infantry teaser was for player controlled infantry, at least that can breathe new life into the game and would push the COD kids to the infantry mode, hopefully improving the teams.

Most players just want to get something, which means a kill assist. And if it is easier, they will do it.

Which is honestly more at the fault of the game than the player, but it still gets incredibly annoying when you have perfectly capable teammates right next to you who refuse having to actually work for their rewards instead of just killing an already dead horse

I also dont know why you linked a post about headons, which I honestly abuse the hell out of with the F4U or SB2C

The only way to solve this is to remove the grind incentive, so players rather play than grind. E.g. old COD games where you reach prestige level and you don’t unlock a thing important anymore.

The other solution is to inverse the rewards. Give 10000 rp for dying, and 50 rp for kills/assists and you’ll see people play the game rather than going for cheap rewards…of course there is also the problem with death grinders/bots.

Diving down into a headon against a low energy enemy? I fail to see how that is anything good.

I even see people ignore the guy on my 6 (free kill) - in favour of killing the guy who’s 6 I am on… Often results in the guy on my 6 killingus both because he is now on both our 6’s lol.

I cant think of a better way to troll but the thing is - these people are not intentionally doing it half the time, they just have no comprehension or are so desperate beyond reasoning or common sense.

I see people desperate for kills but doing everything pheasibly possible to ensure that they do not.

Honestly imo would take a lot of the skill and actual fighting out of the game, could work like for every kill you’re getting the regular award + like 1500RP per “useful action” (aka like every 5 ground targets, 1/2 base, 1 a2a kill [AIR BATTLES]) once you perish due to another player’s actions

Honestly, I see this sort of view/complaint aired in just about every PvP game I’ve ever played. Even in PvE games people constantly complain about teammates doing ‘x’ or not doing ‘y’.

Can certain behavioral patterns be annoying or perceived as detrimental? Sure. But it’s kind of always important to remember, the enemy team is hindered by the exact same things. It ain’t a one way street - no matter how much it can sometimes feel this way.

Expecting hundreds of thousands of randoms to conform to the way we as individuals think the game should be played is just wishful thinking. They’re going to do whatever they want to do, you’ve just got to go with the flow.

I do also think it’s worth keeping in mind, this games over a decade old. Older players have had an eternity in gaming terms to gradually learn all the new vehicles, weaponry, mechanics, maps etc as they were added in, but to a new player, all this can be daunting - and its a constant flow of new players that keeps the game alive.

They’re going to make mistakes. They’re not going to know where to go sometimes so just follow other blues. They’re going to target low hanging fruit because they feel pressure to progress. They’re going to not know the best way to employ their vehicle type. It’s all par for the course mate. Rather than just being annoyed at them, try and steer those willing to listen to the correct path.

if you focus on negative instead of the positive this is very much what you will feel like.

The gameplay is not anywhere near up to par to stand on its own legs. Like it or not, grind is what keeps people here. Its kinda sad when you think about it, but people really do just like having goals to work towards, and unlocking vehicles etc.

Give everyone a press account, and the game dies in less than a year if they don’t come up with interesting game modes.

SQUAD is really the only game I played were this isn’t the case, at least at individual level, command chat there can be another story. Lack of MMR, any progression systems, ranks etc. helps a lot. 90% of people having mics, playing the game because its fun and not to grind helps too.

I think only a few BR will be somewhat alive. Mostly the famous vehicles like spitfire/mustang and Abrams. But then with no grind incentives, the tolerance for BS will be much lower, i.e. CAS would actually drive people away (it does already, in form of one death leavers)

SQUAD is great.

Another topic where frustrated player is blaming OTHER PLAYERS for dev’s poor game design

Or you will see a bunch of people slamming into the ground intentionally or AFKing waiting to be killed for their free points. It would certainly fix ODL’ers, but I doubt they would achieve any more than they do already by just charging tank after tank at the enemy to farm RP… and it would be a botting nightmare.
that said restoring systems like how you used to get an amount of SL/RP for bouncing shots and surviving damage wouldn’t be a bad thing and encourage players to actually play better.

This actually happened in 2015 when 1.53 update introduced a bug where dying granted player xp, resulting in games filled with airspawned planes crashing on purpose second they spawned in:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNpJtkHTY8c
Can’t remember how many players Gajin banned for abusing it, but it was in thousands.

(Youtube didn’t like the original video, found another, probably because old WT content creator had used arabic song as background for crashing planes)

We need bigger maps for toptier

Welcome to warthunder, where teamplay is punished. And “one death leavers” is meta officially promoted by streamers and blogers, cause it’s best grind strategy(x4 to non premium account, no premium vehicle) if it was x1.5 - x2 people would play setups way more.

For aircraft,

I recommend waiting for the dumb grind event to be over (it’s breaking people’s brains. I’ve noticed an uptick in unsporting behaviours, spawnkilling, leaving at first sign of challenge to shop for easier opponents) first though.

After it’s over, give air simulator battles at 3.0-5.7 prop sim a try.

P-38, Bf109F4 (AVOID LATE BF109s until experienced. F4 is docile. G-14’s engine wants to kill you if you mishandle the bird (it also makes her a lot of fun to fly)), yak-3, f4u-4, f6f-5, japanese planes in general make a good entry to sim - versatile and easy to handle without killing yourself.

P-38 has the lowest learning curve without prior flight sim experience.

These days, all I play is ASB and not ARB because of similar reasons listed. I do play ARB, especially if I want something quick rounded out (say, boosters to avoid them going to waste due to how they work in SB).

To ease difficult of SB, I recommend wingalingdragon’s and flying tea-rex’s channels. they make good tutorials.

Also you don’t need head-tracker, VR or even HOTAS. Virtual joystick is a disadvantage due to lack of rudder pedals and stiffer head movement, but very usable and competetive with intentional, concious practice.

Tbh for me, the amount of pure grinders is the same. About same amount of F-4EJ rocket bombers.
