If you could, how would you re-balance CAS in Ground Battles?

I think he’s more upset that the maps are poorly set up for AD and artificially constrain AD into a very small space and provide significant safe space to loiter/launch munitions from that are out of reach from AD.

The contest is not equitable between AD and Air units unless the AD unit is in a full down tier. Unless you’re driving the Pantsir, you will almost always face aircraft that can shoot further than you, often with self guiding munitions allowing them to fire and defend while we’re stuck with junk SACLOS missiles that can be defeated in most cases simply by staying fast and high

A lot of SPAA players dont seem to realise that they have more missiles then the enemy has guided weapons, if you intercept the weapons it either forces the plane to try and get closer to give you less time to react, or he will run out of weapons and have to rearm. Now I know you dont get anything for doing that but your also completely stopping that player from doing anything for his team

Have you actually tried that? Ignoring for a minute that the majority of the AD units can’t actually intercept munitions with IR missiles, even if it truly worked. Which let’s be honest trying to engage several descending F&F munitions with SACLOS missiles with the terrible interface that WT uses is not going to end well for SPAA 95% of the time.

But let’s play that out.

So an A-10 shows up and engages an Stormer HVM with an AGM-65 from 10km out. In this mythical engagement, let’s say the Stormer was actually able to defeat all six AGM’s with 9 missiles. Never actually happen that way. But now he has 5 star streaks left. It will take him 2-3 minutes or more to get to a cap site.

A-10 lands while the Stormer is still fighting his first mavericks, reloads and takes off, seeing the stormer drive to a cap point, he fires off 2 missiles and then flies a little fires one more and then pulls a maneuver and fires another almost instantly on a different path because his TV lock allows him to launch and defend almost instantly.

Stormer dies, A-10 picks off 2 tanks and lands to repeat cycle without ever being exposed to a missile from the stormer because he has significantly more range

well first of all you picked the literally worst SACLOS missile SPAA in game

and second of all you act like there are no other ways to defeat missiles, the stormer has smokes which are very effective against AGM65Ds, most maps have terrain you can use to hide behind.

If I can fight F16s in an ADATS and I consider myself pretty bad in SPAA other people can learn to do it, it really isnt that hard

Your “solution” is one that doesn’t work and most players can’t actually perform at most BRs. The majority of the time SPAAs are out ranged, and don’t have the missiles or the capability to engage fire and forget munitions that planes can land and rearm with faster, while also reloading all of their countermeasures.

then I have no idea what to tell you, I personally never really had an issue with planes, if there were more then I could deal with in a stormer I simply spawn a plane with A2A, I get your complaints but honestly Ive never really had that much of an issue with CAS

Ofcourse you haven’t. Your offered solution was to take a handicapped SPAA and shoot down guided munitions, completely ignoring that the vast majority of SPAAs at the vast majority of BRs are entirely incapable of said performance. And then you doubled down by saying you just take a plane 🙄

again i have offered solutions if you dont wanna take them then that is on you, I agree that most spaas cant deal with CAS that out ranges them but they can shoot down in coming munitions

No my “issue” is that I responded to your incorrect summary of someone else’s statement and your counter was to suggest that SPAA do something that most of them simply can’t do as a solution to employment handicaps that most of them face.

Outside of 8.3 and 12.0 the vast majority of SPAAs are fighting significantly handicapped.

Ground forces need equity.

Add SPAA Systems that u can spawn on airfield

That’s the Lvrbv 701. The stormer isn’t even that bad, it’s just extremely dependant on your network performance as an unstable network can cause the darts to phase through targets due to the speed and lack of proximity fuze. When your internet isn’t working against you it’s quite good.

that would be neat especially with some very long range SPAA. The problem would be that we’d need some sort of ARM for planes to fight long range SAMs.

Or give SPAA fire and forget active radar missiles with comparable range. Suddenly aircraft can’t space climb or loiter outside of SPAA range while launching guided munitions.

for the situation I satiated it was the worst, shooting down incoming AGMs Lvrbv at least has a proxy and can shoot down AGMs, now it only gets the one missile which sucks

I was also mainly talking about top tier since that is where I play and where the majority of guided weapons are, and believe it or not most SACLOS sams can shoot down AGMs it really isnt that hard to do, but I get the complain on only IR and gun spaa

This is a common issue. You’re only playing top tier and you’re not playing in the mid levels where decompression and power creep have pushed guided weapons down into lower tiers.

Guided F&F weapons start showing up in the 8.7’s now and immediately have a 20+ km range. Yes you can sometimes lock them up and engage them, if you can spot them optically, but that’s iffy for a weapon that’s already guiding.

At BR 10, every SPAA will encounter guided F&F weapons fired from ranges they can’t respond at.

well thats just wrong lmao, if its TV guided weapons then they have a max lock range of 7-8km anything past that and your locking in the ground, and if you die to that then well thats your own fault for staying still for so long

also can you please tell me what plane is at 8.7 with TV guided weapons?

This is why positioning is very important which is what players lack and don’t do. Common places vehicles with F&F look are spawn or the battlefield, hardly ever the ones in cover or edge of map. I only fire my missiles when they are tunnel visioning to 1 target. Guaranteed kill making them miss if its a Laser guided or TV guided.

Just depends how you play the SPAA. If ya just shooting at spawn, no positioning, firing early, firing at the incorrect time… expect to fail.
