This is fair, and part of the reason I believe that is only a single component to fixing the issue. I think buffing incentives will encourage a small subsection of the playerbase to more actively play SPAA, but it’s not the full solution. Something that I have already said.
I could definitely see this work out to curb the issue.
It does as people playing said mode are going to be prepared for it and willing to actually face it instead of pure tankers who won’t use SPAA/CAP no matter what as what they want is just pure tank vs tank combat.
Simple.
The root cause is that teams are made on random and in this teams there are people wanting pure tank vs tank combat.
So again, the mode will be balanced as teams are going to be focused on combined gameplay instead of pure tank vs tank combat.
Because they can’t play tank vs tank combat in any other mode.
It doesn’t change the main problem people have with CAS: not being able to do anything while being in a tank.
Please tell me how more people spawning CAP/SPAA as they are there in combined mode is not going to increase number of spawned CAP/SPAA.
Being real is better than doing another nerfs/buffs for next 10 years that won’t change anything.
You’re just repeating yourself instead of addressing anything so I’m done with replying to you. Have a good day!
If that is what makes You feel better in the end of the day, have a nice one.
No it does not.
Gaijin has limited offerings.
If players want less arcade-ish gameplay (as in a much better fog-of-war) they try RGroundB and find it unsatisfactory because of the many things already discussed.
So they have to pick between two unsatisfactory modes .
WT has air-only for players that just want to fly aircraft.
Gaijin should be offering the same for players who just want to drive ground vehicles.
I’m confused on your meaning here, what I mean is the combined arms they were envisioning does already exist.
Personally I disagree with having a separate air mode as well. I think it has a host of its own issues and I truly believe both of them would heavily benefit from being a true combined arms mode instead of the version of what we have today.
Who is “they”?
The post was in reply to ULQ_LOVER in regards to their argument for a separate mode. In the quote you pulled I was positing this would not work out the way they thought because the scenario of “people will know they’re going in with planes needing to be fought” already exists in the current game mode.
In order to fix CAS, first we should take out people who will always complain about CAS, doesn’t matter how we nerf it, because people want TO.
And after that, we can continue fixing by gathering server information. I’m sure if there will be only combined aspect players - CAS vs ground situation will change.
Personally not the way I would go about it, but sure, I’ll accept this idea with the end goal of finding a way to balance CAS.
We have like 10 years of server information at this point lol, combined with the effects of various buffs and additions to the game changing the behavior, I’m not 100% sure how much more is really needed.
I still don’t really believe this would appreciably impact CAS v Ground matchup in this situation, I could potentially see a small uptick in SPAA spawns, and /maybe/ CAP spawns but honestly I don’t see it being enough to really have much of an impact on the matchup
You can give me all incentive… and i still wouldn’t play those, i don’t find planes or SPAAs fun to play. I just find another way to play around CAS and if it’s too much… i simply don’t spawn anymore and change match
That’s fair honestly. I can definitely see people being more interested however which will help the game overall, and make CAS less of an issue for you!
For instance there’s a small number of people, like me, who hop into SPAA proactively either to spite CAS players, be a team player at the sacrifice of your own progression due to limited rewards, or for other reasons that I either can’t think of or don’t know about.
So the “they” is players that don’t want planes bombing tanks.
OK.
So two things
- The mode is quite misleading by the name alone - Ground Realistic battle
- New players might try RGB, then find the CAS advantage to be too much. They will complain, and possibly leave the game, or stick with arcade.
Veteran players, that have spaded air units love the status-quo, as they DO have an advantage.
New players, or players that mostly played arcade, are highly unlikely to stick with RGB because of the inherent disadvantages they suffer.
So queue times for RGB will not be affected much by a new mode because players that prefer TO are already avoiding RGB.
At the same time, RGB players will be happy because there is less complaining about the mode they love, and the players in the battles are more likely to use all the resources the mode offers = better battle experience for all.
Ground players will be happy because they don’t need to deal with CAS.
It’s highly unlikely to balance current RGB without making some faction unhappy.
- Nerf air units and CAS players unhappy
- If air units continue to dominate tanks, ground players unhappy.
Stop nerfing air units, move ground-only players to separate mode and EVERYONE WILL BE HAPPY.
I genuinely don’t get why he doesn’t understand that, i play top tier and have only one tank, do i spawn the AA? no because it’s not fun to play, i don’t even spawn the drone when i get it because, to me, Air gameplay is unbelievably boring
I do it all the time because I just kinda find it fun to do.
Im not that good at the tank vs tank part of it, and there is also a total lack of any meaningful balance at most BRs, so sitting in a support role is also just a generally better use of my time.
(note though, I do prefer SPAAs like the Rapier and Stormer HVM that can scout, so I do that when there is nothing to shoot at)
I ODL too, no point to give free kills to CAS , as many others do. Thing is, some people accepted “combined aspect” as “must be in game” which I don’t understand why. Sure, there is people enjoying it so why not, it should exist as TO and Air only. As many options as better for everyone, it adds new ways to experience game differently.
And “not fun” isn’t everything, fun is subjective - for some tank vs tank isn’t fun and that’s one more reason why we need TO, for more variety and as i said before - different experiences.
I ain’t ever played CoD, so I’ll do my best to bridge the analogy to TF2 instead.
People who want CAS removed are the equivalent of someone who doesn’t like stock Uber charge, and thinks it should just be completely gutted from the game. This ofc completely ignores the fact that Uber charge has been in the game for nearly 2 decades, and dozens, heck prolly hundreds of features have been designed explicitly around Uber charge.
I would be one of many players saying “skill issue.”
A lot of the arguments are just add an extra ground only mode though
not a lot of people even in this thread want cas outright removed compared to the huge amount of people that want it rebalanced or a ground only mode to be added
