If you could, how would you re-balance CAS in Ground Battles?

Now with AGM-12C :O

How do they prevent CAP but not CAS ?

Because CAP are not actively targeting them.
CAS will always go after SAMs first and then ground targets.

If you spawn an A2A loadout jet every SAM will try to shoot you down. So you try and operate behind the SAMs but problem with that is they are still in range while you hunt helicopters and aircraft.

So CAP gets shot down because they are not targeting SAM ? That doesn’t make sense.

SPAA is trying to shoot down every jet.

You are exposed for like 5 seconds when you shoot down a helicopter, no SAM will shoot you down during this, otherwise you are doing it wrong.

It’s only an issue when you get draged into dogfights close to the battlefield, which you can also avoid.

Three main reasons.

  1. OP SPAA drives away CAS, so CAP has nothing to fight.

  2. Long range SPAA severely limits the area that CAP can operate, forcing it to patrol in a tiny area of just a few miles whilst hugging the ground 24/7.

  3. OP SPAA makes shooting down attackers that are near the battlefield risky as you have to enter IRCCM SAM and IRST/RADAR gun range. This especially sucks around 10.0 where planes with no flares are facing SAMs.

Why focus on air only in grb? Separate the modes

It’s genuinely insane how much people try to justify aircrafts being in every single game mode like they don’t have their own…

Gaijin intends GRB to be ‘combined arms’ so we don’t really have a choice unless they’d experiment out of their expense.

That’s actually the problem.

Mot of the newer less mobile SAMS get gimped because you simply can multipath their missles and get within a certain deadzone at close range and just gun them down. Or on certain maps they’re useless because of terrain that lets you approach super close too them. The newer Pantsir actually forced CAS to play way differentely, or use teamwork. Bringin Russias current SPAA down to the level of current SPAA just for the same thing to happen is pointless.

That’s currentely why all the CAS mains are complaining, because a SHORAD is effective on small maps with fast paced gameplay (no surprise) then want to apply realism like (probability of intercepting munitions) and all that jazz because they can do it very easily against normal SAMS with limited supply of munitions. Now with the introduction of ARMS, SAMS get gimped even more than they were before.

Hopefully they do… but all the CAS players who can’t play a tank to save their lives will cry about it

So, basically no one? Every CAS player is on average better than you as they can get the SP required for a plane.

Here’s my new record on getting killed by CAS! 18 seconds! SPAAs can’t do shit if there’s 6 planes all up at once, because it’s so damn cheap.

Then why did you spawn an open-top? Goofy goober.

Cause it’s the only vehicle I had that I could play. All the other ones were locked cause I already played them.

Then requeue or spawn a CAP plane.

What the hell is a CAP plane?

Combat Air Patrol. A plane to shoot down other planes.

I don’t have a plane in my line up. I don’t play planes. If I did I would play ARB, but I don’t. I play GRB. I play ground vehicles. Even then, what is 1 plane (controlled by a player that doesn’t even play planes) gonna do against 6 planes (controlled by much more experienced players)?

You would be surprised how often this is not true
