Full armor spaa should be better than those no armor protection SPAAs, and that is why they need higher BR, the last one case is T77E1, which just has .50 cal but due to armor protection and almost no need to reload moves to 4.0. Skink is hardest to kill before Flankpanther 341, that is the reason why it is better than some Spaas which even have better guns.
Still, you forgot the bots in ARB will be included in the statistics. Gaijin is not a fool

That furthers my point that the Stink is overtired by a massive margin. The tank is expected to cover AA duties from 5.3 to 7.0 (or 8.0 for the UK) and it only compares favorably with tanks 1.0 or 1.0+ BR below it?

Is there any MK103 SPAA under 5.3? And of course some of the Cold War SPAA is undervalued (like BTR152D)
Because it is broadly comparable in layout, armament and firepower. The primary difference is the part where the Stink has much worse matchmaking as a result of the significantly higher BR.
Ever wonder why nobody ever says the Stink is a problem SPAA for ground players? It’s because it still has terrible protection at the tier, can’t hurt 80% of what it sees and isn’t good at killing aircraft. If you have a problem with it, you can spawn a medium tank and just roll towards it and it can barely even scratch you.
The firepower is not the only factor; the armor protection is much more important, espcially for Spaas. Skin’s armor is perfect enough that it doesn’t need to be concerned about any cannon attacks (even 45mm cannon need to be pretty close to shot it), It forms such a perfect anti-aircraft defense position that the vast majority of CAS aircraft cannot get close.
I even wonder why people always hope to use tanks to destroy the SPAA. Only the defensive line collapsed or most of team quit will make it happened, Skink doesn’t even need to move to the front.
By the way Skink is also the most of CAS by using Cannon/rockets’ Nightmire, especially for German and British
Yak9 splits it’s time between air and ground targets. Yak9 kills per spawn and kills per death is double the IL2s.
It’s based on performance. IF the armor helps the vehicle perform better then it will get a higher BR. In Skinks case, the armor only helps it slightly - in surviving longer. Can’t make up for the relatively weaker guns.
Open-topped spaa like the Ostwind II, BTR-ZD, M53/59 and Zerstorer all have better kills-to-spawn ratio than the Skink. The reason? Their guns.
Well let’s assume that somehow AI controlled bots from ARB are included in the overall statistics, would that not affect all spaa equally?

Il2ms KS/KR(only ground) is much better than Yak9k, and also Yak9k’s air KR/KD is same.
US/British is pretty hard to spawn SPAAs unless they out of control the sky, that’s why their KD/KR is not good due to the condition is pretty bad, almost been camp.
By the way BTR-ZD and SUB’s performance is worse than Skink, why? the armor, BTR and SUB are easil killed by any kind of guns.

Team?? What a joke… Game doesn’t require from teams to fulfill role slots (for example, team should have at least 1-2 AAs, or few tank destroyers) it’s not team game why it’s so hard to understand.
Do you know anyone who downloaded this game to play AA vs CAS??? Nobody wants play hide and seek, especially then enemy has all the advantages (Gaijin making AA gameplay most boring, unprofitable and in most cases ineffective. Even fleet is more fun and profitable).

I see, you are this kind of player who plays only"meta" class, or vehicles… Why all CAS players think they are superior to others because they play planes. Why do you think everyone, who wants to play ground should suffer. You don’t want balance of fair gameplay, you want basically free kills.
And this is why players struggle in GRB. It’s 100% a team based game, but of course its not mandatory to play as a team or be a team player. Have every right to be greedy for kills and do as they please, however, if no teamplay is involved the team will suffer from CAS. Again, not required to do teamwork, but more of a recommended thing. As someone who played a lot of SPAA gameplay, I saved many tankers from getting CAS and keeping the front line alive to win and vice versa when I get saved from CAS when I’m on a tank. To add, I only die to CAS 10% to 20% of the time based on my 10 to 25 daily matches. If anything, most likely a lot lower % death from CAS when I’m on a SPAA.
“Team based game”_ what does it mean? It mean there should be roles, for example: 1 is builder, 1 hunter, 1 healer and so on, it means builder cant heal and healer cant hunt. Do we have this kind of situation in WT?? Of course no.
Because there is friendly blue vehicles, it doesn’t mean we are “team”, in WT it means we can’t directly kill eachother. If you play long enough, you should remember why Gaijin turned off friendly fire in RB… Because RB was basically death match, blue? red? Doesn’t matter everyone was shooting eachother. Doesn’t seems like “team based game”.

huh? Your overlooking the functional roles that the vehicles have. If you want to put it as builder, hunter, healer etc. then here is a breakdown.
Support role: SPAA ( defends tanks from CAS) while some capable of doing great deal of damage to tanks and others are fully dedicated for air only.
Healer role: Every player is a healer (They can help repairs other players, help extinguish a 3rd fire, etc…)
Light tanks role: Scout for the team as well partake in the front lines with Mediums and Heavies
Medium/Heavy: Leads the front line majority of the time
In other games, some healers also look the other way and ignore healing teammates unless they are fully specialized healers/supporters with no fighting back options. Some rather fight other players even though they are playing the healing role or support role. They shouldn’t hunt, they shouldn’t ignore the job, they shouldn’t fight other fighters, yet some do. Players will cry and whine about it, but again, everyone has free will.
War Thunder doesn’t fully force players to take specific roles only. Everyone has a line up to build and use accordingly to what the team needs or player wants. If they want to ignore those specific roles, then Good Luck. Options are there. Game is still a team based game, just players are playing poorly and selfishly.
I agree with you. But thats the issue he is poining too. Team game should enforce team play. You as one player can do as much effort as you like but if others don’t there is no team play. Thats why team play is rare and as you said it depends on luck.
IMO the biggest issue with WT team play is that players have too much and too little control at the same time.
Am aware when what they mean by, “No team play”, but it won’t change the fact that it exist. It goes for many other games that actually enforces is like LoL or Overwatch for example. Many still play selfish. Even if WT enforced it, players will still run around with SPAA and kill/annoy tanks and ignoring CAS or do their own thing with whatever vehicle they use. The “Luck” is just the reality of playing alone. True consistent team play is guaranteed when we play in a 4 man squad or with a friend with real communication and strategy. It’s no longer luck there. Even in sports, you will see greedy players trying to take the glory and fail instead of passing the ball for a score/win. Just reality, selfish players will sometimes make games toxic. Can’t really stop it unless we mind control them.

Actually balance is easy
Just give us 3 of the event osa
Simply encourage AA gameplay
Increase the SP, Mission score, RP, SL for anti-air kills
SP discount for planes if they only take anti-air armaments (encourage fighter only plane spawns instead of pure anti-ground or multi-role)
This might be a bit radical idea:
No re-arming on the airfield. Basically, you spawn a plane, and when you have emptied your arsenal you will fly back to the airfield, and then you will be kicked out from you plane and forced to spawn a ground vehicle before you can spawn in another aircraft. Of course, the SP and SL of your plane would be fully refunded to you if you successfully “extract” from the battlefield back to the airfield.
And this system can’t be abused because if you spawn in a “sacrificial” ground vehicle and J-out immediately, then you will very quickly burn through your SP, SL and your available vehicles.
There is no difference between them. when some things provide new way to destroy them, and then they will cry as those CAS complainers(even worse, because they can’t fight back immediately)
Does anyone not have SPAA or fighters? So again you only know CAS is op, whatever the actual performance, even the CAS just take 50kg bombs, " I can’t shot it down, I get bombed by CAS, so it is OP", that is much more stupid. not all the CAS are OP, same for IFVs, should all IFVs = BMPT?
When you paid the 2nd highest SP cost thing and do nothing, then what the meaning of it? easily shot down, expulsion or even helplessness by 70SP cost, then is it fair? why these only the ground players who don’t even want to improve their spaa skills considered first? Ah I see, you paid for tons of premium packs, but Gaijin is hard to provide SPAA, which is free, then CAS must be nerf over and over again, all for the money.
