I play around 8.0-10.0 mainly, it’s my primary BR range. I play a lot both as SPAAs and Helis. In an SPAA, to avoid being hit, stay on the move. The I-TOWs and AS.11s are especially non-reactive at beyond 2km, if you pull a hard turn when the missile is 100m away from you, you are guaranteed to dodge it. As I said above, cover is important when playing an SPAA, don’t just sit on your spawn like some sort of target practice.
One of the things I like to do as an SPAA is to bait helis at 3km to waste ATGMs on me by staying just out of cover, then taking cover as soon as I see or hear the ATGM coming. The thing about Heli is that it’s quite difficult to use them in hover mode because of annoying launching angles, so 95% of Heli users just launch them in normal mode which inherently causes them to move forward and closer to the battlefield. Many heli users at that BR don’t even notice SPAAs shooting at them due to the lack of RWR and them being tunnel-visioned on trying to find enemy tanks or trying to guide an ATGM.
If you think helis are overpowered I dare you to take the HKP2, Alouette II/III, or god forbid the poor fucking Wasp HAS Mk.1 with AS.11s at 9.0.
“Bu-- But the Wasp HAS Mk.1 gets the AS.12 with 7km range!!!”
Gunner-operator optical zoom of 10x, no autotracking of any sort, and a max flight speed of 210m/s which degrades quickly. Good. Fucking. Luck. Guiding this thing beyond 4km, let alone actually killing something.
I would note, however, that the Chinese helicopters seem to be much stronger than the rest of the helicopters at this BR range. The Z-11WA specifically, while it has an ok-ish 20x zoom, the HJ-8A feels quite responsive even at max range, but most importantly, it gets thermal optics! At 8.7! Don’t even get me started on the TY-90 carried by the Z-9W and any subsequent Chinese helicopter, those are actual cancer.
this one is easy tbh, make it so bombs have a higher spawn point cost and make shooting down planes with SPAA actually give double rewards compared to killing tanks since they’re rarer, harder to shoot down and it makes so people actually want to shoot down planes specifically
Helicopters don’t even need to target most SPAAs there, because they aren’t a threat at all.
Not staying in hover mode is all you need to do in order to not get hit by things that aren’t M247 or VEAK.
We just simple need something similiar to night battles. An option to play only tanks.
No need to nerf CAS or overbuff SPAAs. It would even solve the problem with nations that dont have any capable SPAA because there have none. If there is a separate queue for nigth battles why not one for tanks only.
Well, it is just that even they know that most players would migrate to the TO mode, and that they will have longer queue times, and that after a few minutes, the whole match would be nothing but planes up in the sky.
Fixing Air RB won’t change GRB. Some of us prefer to go into a GRB battle for Air since we are air mains so we prioritize focusing on aerial targets. It doesn’t mean we won’t engage ground units however they are not our main focus. Yes, you do have Revenge bombers as many call them. However, there is not a majority. Many simply focus groups of targets such as myself.
Bomb the group of tanks = clear passage to capture a point, kill those at sniper hill. Etc. It’s simply called prioritizing targets of importance.
Nah, if im flying plane it is to get easy kills. Why not to do this if its easy and simple. This was 8 months ago, i played ton of Sim and can snipe at 2km without problem in cockpit view. Only LMB required.
I see CAS fans say that everyone would just move to the TO mode and leave GRB dead, but doesn’t that mean that most players hate the way CAS is implemented?
Try it on a console. You can’t even do a loop. Take the instructor off and half the controls vanish. Try to set it up and the plane is wobbly mess. How much easier the game must be on PC.
