How are you going to be within gunrange to protect your teammates if you do not accompany them and stay in spawn?
It depends on the map. Just stay behind your teammates if they’re winning, and if you’re losing, all CAS will be at your spawn, so just find a good place near spawn.
Don’t you just love CAS mains arguing skill issue when SPAA stays in spawn but at the same time say that tanks are not a threat to SPAA unless you leave spawn. Make up your damn mind.

Not rly the moment u shoot ppl spot u easily and its just a matter if time before u get strafed an again imo gun spaa is way harder then bombing
Even if u take 100kg bombs its still easier
Also i didnt saw a low tier spaa on ur acoount that have positive kd ratio

Not exactly, it’s far more riskier if the SPAA player fires and misses everything or fires from far distance, will lose the element of surprise which is the majority of the players been doing. After that, the SPAA becomes the target.
God you are just like warrior in that other thread. I will just stop following both threads since nothing constructive happensa anyway and it’s just cas mains vs cas haters hurling insults at eachother.
I use my M19A1 as an IFV, so it makes sense I don’t have as many air kills as ground kills.
I’ll often times intentionally bait CAS over by shooting in random directions away from them, to make em think I’m distracted and it works as often as they try to kill me.
Losing the element of surprise doesn’t matter if you kill the CAS faster than they kill you, especially when you can move somewhere else.
You mean the guy who was desperately trying to explain to a CAS hater why he couldn’t filter statistics that didn’t have filters for what the CAS hater wanted to filter?

I generally don’t play SPAA that can’t kill tanks cuz they’re a waste of my time, and all my teammate’s time. Even with SAMs I’ll try to cap points and scout if there’s no air targets in the first 5 minutes of playing.
This is one of the few Chapparal games with more than 1 or 2 enemy planes (spawning planes is rare at 9.0 cuz SPAA is OP). I spent the entire game afk on my phone, was NEVER at risk of dying, and still got 4 kills without even needing to aim cuz the SAMs did all the work.

I agree early sams like the chaparral or ozelot are amazing but we are talking on low tier spaa like 7.0 and below

SAM is pretty much the only SPAA I use that can’t kill tanks. As far as low tier, I mainly use Ostwind, Btr 152, Crusader AA Mk.1, AMX-13 DCA 40, M19A1/M42, and Italian M42. I honestly won’t even bother with things like the M45 quad mount.

Why are CAS haters just incapable of comprehending the idea that using an SPAA to kill tanks (instead of planes), and having a positive K/D against tanks, but not planes, doesn’t mean the vehicle is bad at fighting planes?
I almost always shoot down every plane I see when in M19A1, however there’s more enemy tanks than there’s enemy planes.
First of all im not a cas hater im not saying things should change in the low tiers but ur saying it so ez to get air kills when u have negative air kd in all of ur spaas on them
If its so strong like ur saying u should be able to hold positive kd in both tanks and planes cuz u have so many targets

Dying to tanks has nothing to do with fighting planes. If an SPAA is used to kill tanks, that doesn’t mean it’s bad at fighting planes.

You’re saying that the easiest and most boring role in WarThunder is difficult, and trying to use stats of a bad player to prove your point.
If it was the easiest then even bad player would be able to perform well

Exactly. There’s no other role in WarThunder where a bad player can spend the entire game on their phone, and leave with 4 kills.
