If you could, how would you re-balance CAS in Ground Battles?

Given that those modes were the basis for the rest of the game and have always had a bloc of players in them…of course they have.

The ‘trigger queue’ concept seems the best avenue toward TO, but it (and TO at large) seem neglected/abandoned as a pitch nowadays.

Outside of solitary posts, I haven’t seen any serious movement.

ATP it’s evolved past just a balance issue for some i am sure. Myself included in this i can queue up with a lineup where i know my spaa will outshine any aircraft that try to get close to the battlefield and i just still will not have fun since i was drawn to the game by the tank gameplay. Playing against a plane just feels like a go next button, meanwhile to the comment earlier of ____ is now the reason I died is more for me like haha I’m trying to swarm a KV - 1E with some friends in crusaders and i am sure there are others who also enjoy the challenge of times like that

This is good. Giving vulnerable CAS planes a chance to survive against CAP planes makes for better balance.

Even at top tier, which is the best CAP jet BR we already have notch gate and mp. Limiting guaranteed kills to within 3km for 9m, even closer for r73…

Not to mention the lower ones. Are you willing to compete, in Target acquisition & Kill efficiency,
with a MiG9 against ShilkaM2?
with a Mig15 against Gepards (and PGZ09 xD)?
with a MiG17PF/ F3H against M247+ImpChap?
with a MiG21F /F100 against Stinger-Cannons?
with a MiG23M against Strela & OSA?

If pilot has few braincells, dodge AAs is easy… All you have to do is fly low. Rocket AAs need time to lock radar and launch missiles, missiles need time to reach target and can’t maneuver normally. AAs cannot lock target if plane is low, it’s alsy invisible for radar.

But yeah, CAS is very hard to use, we need NERF all SPAAs as soon as possible.

You know how to hide close to the ground. So does the enemy. He notches and uses MP, pops chff & flr,
And your ARH aren’t doing anything, forcing you to get closer, maybe even a 20km chase, across their af…

what gaijin needs to do is increase the airspace size (maybe even to arb levels who knows with how the sa-2s might work) and force airfield spawn

Unless the length of a GRB match was increased five or even ten fold, increasing airfield distance and forcing airfield spawn would both be extremely bad ideas.

i would nerf the armorpiercing rounds in AA vehicles.

Ive seen people using AA as low SP TDs for then to moan when they are getting bombed in their second spawn, (especially with Germany and the Gepard) WAY to many times.

The AAs should be focused on the air, the name even say it.

Not being ground killing machines that ignores the air which endangers the team when the planes are starting to roll in.

I know some people will dislike this, but you can’t have both.

Don’t whine about CAS if you wont do something to counter it.

Remove all HUD/UI elements that are present in ground like scouted vics, hit markers etc. from being seen by planes. Let SPAA scout planes for ground vics. Delay the ability to spawn planes in a match to like 3-5 minutes. Remove the reduced spawn for CAS light vics get. Rebalance air spawns so we don’t have FnF AGM slingers spawning 15k from the battle immedietly. Reduce CAP loadouts, increase CAS loadouts.

This would be a massive step forward and require barely any work besides reworking air spawns for higher BRs.

Oh the 40 rounds of apds the gepard gets, that can switch almost instantly? That’s why people are dying to planes?

and when those rounds are gone, they can still kill light and some medium tanks, and they are trying it constantly.

Seeing someone using a Gepard as an AA is a rarety these days.

Maybe they want to play ground battles hope this helps :)

This is why CAS haters are ignored by Gajin.

I love CAS, I have every single strike plane available spaded for RU and GER, even bought the su39 for the better TV missles over the TT variant and goofy radar. I have the pars heli in germany too.

CAS is not balanced all outside of like sub 5.0 GRB and 7.7-9.3 where SPAA actually threatens them. The only thing that kills a good CAS player is CAP or getting too greedy with your attack runs. Mamy players my self included just opt to suicide when we run out of ammo, since spawning back into a tank immedietly is more fun than spending 3 minutes rearming and climbing.

CAS is relatively balanced from 3.7-10.7 (basically, the beginning of autocannon SPAA to the beginning of AGMs)

In spite of this thread and the many others on the forums. I do sometimes question the CAS problem, at least a little.

I just unlocked the Tracked Rapier and deciced to spade it in GSB.

First 4 matches, nothing, not a wink, no helis and no jets.

Then I get a game with both, totally stock 4 air kills (should have been 5 but a heli tanked a hit and RTBed)

I know GSB is a little different, and im not saying there isnt an issue, but I do find the irony that when I try to play/spade an SPAA, there isnt any CAS and then when there is, its not a major threat :P

Much different* especially at the BR you’ve played.

That’s the one of the problems.
One game you might not see anything and get bored.
Next game you might see something that outranges you and you’re still bored.
