I agree with the SP increase, but the “Sortie complete” thing, and the airfield spawn make no sense, and limiting how many aircraft a team can spawn is just a flat out bad idea.
If only there was a certain vehicle for that exact task…
And you can’t transform into that when you’re in your other vehicle.
Stop feeding the whinge…
My point still stands buddy.
It’s a flimsy well beaten point ‘buddy’… There are counters, you choose to ignore them… You also want to post pics of your killfeed slaying the enemy with planes, but you haven’t encountered someone fit enough in SPAA to deal with you.
It doesn’t say you’re good, no matter how many of those precious numbers you hit.
That is what this defeatist ‘You can’t beat CAS’ mentatlity feeds, less people spawning the counter bedcause ‘everyone’ says it’s not worth it.
There are no counters when you’re in your tank and this is something you can’t wrap your head around.
But this is true, you can’t beat CAS in your tank.
I’ve told you many times before, you don’t need to spawn your tank first…
Get your head around that.
Again, you don’t have to spawn your tank.
The fact you constantly barricade yourself makes it clear, over and over, that you aren’t discussing anything… It’s just what you want to accept.
Saying you can’t when you genuinely won’t, is just you being beligerant and ignorant.
Yes I do as this is the only tank mode we have.
See above.
You’re just being dishonest now.
Let’s just ignore 95% of the vehicles, spawn AAs that are often times outclassed just so we don’t get attacked by something we couldn’t counter from the get go.
Yet, you don’t have to spawn the tank first…
You’re the one being dishonest where you can’t actually spawn anything other than a tank.
This is just reducing the argument to make it absurd, which is genuine bad faith arguments.
You’re part of a team, you aren’t the only one who is spawning, there’s no need for everyone to spawn the same, and they can all respawn as the vehicle you don’t want, but you’d rather make out that they won’t and are limited to all being the same, at the same risk, to make your argument undebatable…
Because you want to remain on that fixation, for the entire time.
You don’t have to spawn tanks all the time, or first spawn… You aren’t as limited or dictated as you make out.
-
Ground spawn for every aircraft regardless of type, with runways moved even further away at top tier.
-
All scout / ‘hit’ identifiers removed from aircraft’s perspective, they can stay on the map but remove them from the ‘world’ so to speak.
-
Reduce SP costs of AAM’s.
-
Add more powerful top tier AA. Only 1 nation having something even worth spawning is unacceptable.
Fingers crossed that is early 2025 not end of 2025
- Add modern day cruise missiles
- add F-15EX with 36 MMW GBU-53
- Add B-1B with 24 JASSM-ER
- Add B-52J with JASSM-XR
- add FB-111A with 6x AGM-69 SRAM as tt 11.0 bomber
- add B-36 at 7.3
- remove pantsir
- add AGM-114L, brimstone MMW
- cut all aircraft SP to a third of what they are now
- add HARM and upgrades
- add upgraded F-15E with JASSM-XR
- add SLAM-ER
- add F-35 with whatever weapons bay fit AGM is in development right now
- remove pantsir
- add markers for ground units like in Air RB or ground arcade
- add YF-23 becuase it looks cool
- add F-22 because it looks cool, and can carry 8 GBU-53
Perfectly balanced, I see nothing wrong.
only ones im serious about is GBU-53 for F-15E (without radar seeker) and tech tree FB-111A (without the nukes ofc), and YF-23
Sorry for my English in advance.
I think the low-mid tier AA need a buff in mechanik.
Like the radar AA with show you, ~wher need to shot, a lot of new player need that kinda help.
So what if, the low-mid tier AA get this mechanic, what depend on gunner skill, and at start give a biger cirkel, wicht can be reduced by size with skill point.
Of course, no need to bi like radar size as best, but it help to gess with AA whr to need to shoot.
Yes I do, you’re just being dishonest.
Demanding people to spawn nothing but AAs in a tank mode just to be safe is honestly pretty dishonest and a non-argument.
You’re the one here arguing in bad faith.
Don’t spawn tanks in a tank mode just so you don’t get killed in a totally unfair fashion from a vehicle type that’s completely optional to the mode itself.
So I’ve noticed a lot of points people bring up when it comes to air in ground battles and I thought I’d like to share my opinion as an avid tank vs tank enjoyer.
- This is the x number post complaining about CAS!
Ok then, if there’s this many posts complaining about CAS in ground battles then maybe we shouldn’t berate the person for not using search or whatever but instead address the issue as soon as possible because it seems to be reoccurring.
- Bruh just get good and play SPAA/Jets/Helicopter
This is a bad approach to the argument provided as it fundamentally changes how the user wants to play the game. For me personally I find pure tank on tank engagements in this game the most enjoyable aspect of the game for me, I have no care for air battles or naval battles and I assume there are lots of other players like me. From a gameplay stand point it seems unintuitive to force the user to play something they don’t necessarily enjoy just so they can win or get some form of vengeance. Added in the fact that it is entirely unrewarding to play either when SPAA is unreliable and earns no bonuses for knocking out aircraft and aircraft (in my opinion) is so easy to get kills with it seems almost trivial and boring. I hope some people can understand from a purely tank players perspective it’s just not fun to play either of these roles and to force someone like me into those roles goes against why I play the game in the first place.
- So what are the issues with CAS at the moment?
One of the big issues I’ve noticed at the moment is in the name, “Close” air support. In reality it doesn’t seem like the aircraft are close at all. Yeah there are some good players who maneuver close to the ground avoiding radar and effectively bomb targets and they shouldn’t be discredited. However for each of those players there is another player in a helicopter about 4-5km away from the AO successfully bombing targets from the safety of a hill top. This would make sense in a real life scenario where tank columns would be kilometers apart from one another but they aren’t in game, the scale is much smaller in the maps.
I get that some of these aircraft and their real life counterparts do carry massive payloads with pylons of 18 missiles each or whatever but is that really needed to be accurate portrayed in game? For balance reasons wouldn’t it make sense to give the apache maybe just 8 hellfires and not 16? Think about it, most top tier battles consist of players with one life premiums, maybe a backup if they got one. This means that one good CAS player effectively wins the entire game because they have the ability to knock out on average half the team with one load of their pylons.
Drones… ahh drones… they are a mistake. Yeah I understand that modern warfare is moving towards the idea of drones and the tank is becoming somewhat redundant, we are seeing the effects of this today with war footage. But does this need to be replicated in war thunder? A game which is renowned for it’s historical accuracy and amazingly detailed arsenal of vehicles just for players to reach the top tier and get reminded that their fully armored box is just a thermal image for some vehicle 8km away from you?
In my opinion I think it’s too easy to get rewarded for killing a ground unit from the air than it is vice versa, there are many more qualified people who have years of data from the game to back up which features should be changed. I don’t think we need JTAC levels of realism to obtain coordinates to bomb targets but I also think that one button fire and forget missiles are too simple and easy for the game. And all of this doesn’t necessarily make top tier air RB any more fun for people, I’m not surprised that people enjoy bullying ground forces more than getting locked on from 12km in the air by another jet after spending 10 minutes just taking off.
In conclusion I know a lot of people aren’t going to be happy about this with the “muh jets grr” and “just get good” arguments and I would employ those people to put themselves in the shoes of people who have enjoyed this game for years just playing tanks for tanks. I believe the issue of CAS only persists in top tier mainly because of the speed of the aircraft, the fire and forget being easy to use and hard to mess up, there being no reliable counter to them other than subjecting yourself to the pain that is SPAA and the fact that most players in top tier only respawn once and they’re out.
Thank you for reading this and I hope my opinions can add some value to the conversation.
Agree with everything you wrote, but to clarify the “close” part of CAS doesn’t refer to the distance between the aircraft and the target, but between the target and friendlies. A plane could shoot a missile from 200km away and it will still be CAS if the enemy it targets is close to a friendly.
These would both worsen the problem.
This is a bad approach to the argument provided, as it expect Gajin to fundamentally change how Warthunder is designed to be played.
Warthunder is meant to be a combined arms team game. If you don’t wanna make an actual participation on your team, then play a different game or stop complaining.
Seriously? Out of all the thing in the game you choose to complain about, you choose hellfires? Not Ka-50/52s, not Mi-28s, not Kh-38 or AGM-65s or GBUs or Paveways (things that are actually useful), you choose hellfires?
Same goes for a good tank player.
