So You are good in SPAA right?
Flanking on Mozdok around C cap, exposing myself fully on multiple occasions and enemies still didn’t even bother to look at this pretty common route. Even with CAS they failed to kill me, just goes to show how much handholding people need in this game, no wonder CAS is so strong.
the way i’d do it :
- Air RB stays the same (maybe add additional airfields)
- Naval stays the same (planes may be removed ?)
- Remove planes from Ground RB
Create a new combined game mode, with no SP, where you can spawn whatever you want : ships, tanks or planes, on a very large map at least 50x50 at low tier and 100x100 at top tier (Denmark comes to mind)
planes would take off from allied airfield a bit like in sim and their mission would be to either do CAS, antiship or CAP
Tanks would have to capture objectives, such as attacking a base, it would be great if the spawn could evolve depending on what you capture, so you don’t play on the same location all the time.
Ships would also have objectives : destroying a port, helping tanks by bombing fixed locations, or capturing a certain area. They could also provide air cover near the tank area if they manage to play well and get close enough
Planes can still do CAS, but since they need to take off from an airfield, and since the map would be quite large, they now have to think about fuel consumption, and, if modern DDs are added, they can’t use any route, at the risk of getting shot down by long range SAMs.
The idea is still blury, but i personally think there’s some missed opportunities and a big potential for all these vehicles, where they can be balanced against each other without the use of SP, but SP is needed anyway because they are all stuck in gamemodes that don’t fit their intended environment of use
i suppose it depends from player to player, but i find spaa to be the hardest role to play (surely because i cannot aim lol)
I have a lot of trouble leading my shots on planes but not at tanks. Might just be me, but i think that shooting in 3 dimension is by far harder than shooting in a 2d setting
I’ve never played the M19 or the ostwind so i cannot say
Higher spawn cost depending on loadout.

Congratulations, you’ve discovered how easy it is to flank people with blinkers on…
It doesn’t make CAS any stronger, it just makes it clear that people are ignorant to the threat, be it from air, or from the flank.
I feel like the solution would be to just increase the spawn cost of all airplanes in Ground RB and set it up so only one fighter/interceptor, one bomber/strike fighter, and one helicopter per team can be in the air at a time. If I remember correctly, Ground Arcade and the Ground Arcade Assault modes already work like this.
I think the starting spawn cost is what, 480 SP?
Make it 750 for no loadout and up to 1000 SP for a loadout. Scouting can still lower it. And make it so you can scout planes and once pinged, they’re marked for everyone. Increase the reward for shooting down a plane in Ground Battles by 50%.
Additionally; every aircraft starts on the runway. No more air starts.
Not against the idea of not letting them resupply either. Once you run out of kit, you can continue flying as a scout plane and at the mercy of enemy SPAAs and other airplanes. Or you can land and it will “boot” you out of your aircraft but it doesn’t count you as killed or destroyed. So theres no repair cost or such. Have it say “Sortie Completed” and give some reward for landing the plane.
Rank I-V: 5,000 SL, 2,500 RP
Rank VI-VIII: 10,000 SL, 5,000 RP
I say all this as someone who loves CAS. I personally think the issue with CAS is wildly dependent on the Rank/BR. Up until like Rank 5, CAS isnt nearly an issue as it is with Ranks 6-8. And the very top tier being the worst with the extremely capable modern weaponry. I love the cinematic experience of pushing a point in my Sherman and contending with some Panzers while watching my friend deal with his own issues in the form of a BF-109 or Spitfire.
Heavily different as aircraft arent spawns in that mode, and as such I am opposed to arbitrary limits for RB.
Air starts are necessary for some planes, such as aircraft that physically cannot take off from the airfield - ideally all planes would spawn just above the airfield, like float planes do in sim.
Spotting aircraft is fine, not opposed to that, and I am also in favor of short-range leads for SPAA and HE-VT slingers on scouted aircraft.
Spawn points… ideally just need a good looking-over, and I dont think they should be increased that much. I dont want rearming to be removed, though.
Let anyone be able to spawn an air load-out only of a random fighter at top tier, even if they don’t have it researched
At least people can respond easily to a flanking ground threat, meanwhile they won’t be able to do that against air threats.
They can easily do the same against the planes.
Stop putting up barriers.
Shooting a lightly armored flanker isn’t a big deal for any vehicle.
Same can’t be said for shooting down a plane.
I agree with the SP increase, but the “Sortie complete” thing, and the airfield spawn make no sense, and limiting how many aircraft a team can spawn is just a flat out bad idea.
If only there was a certain vehicle for that exact task…
And you can’t transform into that when you’re in your other vehicle.
Stop feeding the whinge…
My point still stands buddy.
It’s a flimsy well beaten point ‘buddy’… There are counters, you choose to ignore them… You also want to post pics of your killfeed slaying the enemy with planes, but you haven’t encountered someone fit enough in SPAA to deal with you.
It doesn’t say you’re good, no matter how many of those precious numbers you hit.
That is what this defeatist ‘You can’t beat CAS’ mentatlity feeds, less people spawning the counter bedcause ‘everyone’ says it’s not worth it.
There are no counters when you’re in your tank and this is something you can’t wrap your head around.
But this is true, you can’t beat CAS in your tank.
I’ve told you many times before, you don’t need to spawn your tank first…
Get your head around that.
Again, you don’t have to spawn your tank.
The fact you constantly barricade yourself makes it clear, over and over, that you aren’t discussing anything… It’s just what you want to accept.
Saying you can’t when you genuinely won’t, is just you being beligerant and ignorant.
