@LukavMineav and @FlyingDoctor
Could you two please that this to pms. It is clogging up the thread.
Apologies,
No worries. I make the same mistake sometimes.
Or trying to charge a fee for reading them - as it was quite entertaining 😎
This topic is created upon a false assumptions:
If players are threatened with no reward for losing, they will be motivated to bring a line-up and stick around in a battle to try get the win, in order to secure their rewards
If winning the battle is required to secure your rewards you’ll adjust your tactics to prioritize capping points and contributing to the victory of the battle rather than selfishly sitting in some camping spot all game.
However, what is likely to happen instead is that the 1-death-leaving problem will be even greater. People will just bail out of games because they think there is no hope. People need to remember that it is people like myself who are willing to keep spawning tanks even when the battle seems hopeless, that are the ones that deserve to be awarded. You’ll only be punishing the players trying to do good by their team, because the 1-death-leavers and campers will not change their behaviours. Right now, as it stands - I can keep spawning vehicles even when most of the team has left and still be awarded for my time and effort. Some of the best battles are when it seems all hope seems lost but then a couple of the team bound together and pull through for the win. Your suggestion would kill any remaining incentive for this.
Edit: Another thing to remember: Not all battles are some one-sided affair. Some battles some right down to the wire where both teams have stuck in there and racked up kills and deaths. Imagine not getting rewarded for games like these:

Your reply is created under the false assumption I even read the OPs post and didn’t just read the title and go on a tangent.
it doesn’t matter whether you read the title or whole post.
if you like wasting your time replying to troll posts then go ahead. some people dont have anything better to do
It used to be like this before the outrage (lol) like half the matches I was making negative lions as I hadn’t score enough kills before losing a vehicle with high repair cost, but at least no such thing as negative rp yet lmao
I remember pre-2022 rewards used to be MUCH worse for defeats, which led to an enormous gap and extreme frustration of giving everything and getting ace matches, only to lose because of one-death leavers, Premium spam, poor matchmaking, bad lineup balance or simply bad luck, and get trash rewards because of that.
The community voted to even out rewards more so that these would depend more on each player’s own performance every match instead of whether they happen to be on the right or wrong team.
Those of us who voted and promoted this option to win were harassed to the extreme by “pro players” who kept claiming that “good players only win, and if you lose it’s because you are bad” and that “we were only bad players trying to nerf good players instead of just getting good”…
And now I see THIS? People literally advocating to take away all rewards from 50% of the players on each match, and to take away rewards from 45% of the average player (55% WR)’s matches? What kind of madness is this?
Having decent defeat rewards is precisely what encourages to fight till the end. If defeats had lower or no rewards, everyone would leave as soon as the match looked bad as in order not to waste their time, just like they already do in many instances, but even worse.
Indeed. Just from the last few days I have like 20 screenshots of 8-15 kill + 2-4 base cap matches that ended up in defeats. According to whoever made this thread, I should have been punished by getting no rewards those matches just for being on the wrong team.
No. What this would do is encourage players to just leave a match once it started looking like a defeat as to not waste their time on a lost cause.
And it’s funny that you blame campers for this mindset- campers are usually the highest K/D players, who justify their playstyle to being “strategic” to achieve victory “by cutting off reinforcements”. It’s the objective players who get insulted and humiliated to extremely toxic levels by the high K/D spawnkilling/camping players for not having such high K/Ds and stats on paper by comparison because we prioritise playing the objective over camping for kills.
Sometimes your team wins, sometimes your team loses. Sith happens. Hardly ever can a single player win a 16v16 match on their own, and they shouldn’t be punished for this. The losing team having lower rewards is already enough of an incentive to go for the win- but if you remove rewards from defeats, what you are doing is removing any incentive to play as soon as the match begins looking like a defeat.
Agreed, the focus on K/D just promotes game play that is often not useful or helpful for the team in achieving victory, and that includes one-death-leaving, since first spawns have the highest potential for kills typically, while later vehicles you spawn may be up against overwhelming odds or a lack of enemies. Although, the people reaching those extreme toxic levels and holding their K/D over others are those who probably don’t have much to account for outside of this game, and it is the only thing they can hold to feel like they’ve achieved something in life. I know for me, I will keep spawning vehicles each game no matter what, and it’s important that the game rewards me for doing so, hence why this topic is silly.
100%, it’s one of the most frustrating and rewarding things about War Thunder.
@d_dante one question, a full uptier match could be considered a higher chance to lose, so why would I even risk playing ? Better quit until I get the downtier, but the rest of players can think as I do, so matches will be the 4vs4 downtiers
Wining the match already gets you more rewards than losing, so there already is an incentive to win.
The game would be better helped by stopping people from playing with just one vehicle in their line ups, or just one vehicle at the BR rating for example having one 5.7 but the rest of your line up is from the previous rank 4.5 or less.
This has to be the most over thought out, but with the least amount of actual thinking, topic Ive seen yet…
And this is all that would end up happening in every match without rewards.
With no incentive to play, why waste the time.
Not to mention how lineup/MM-dependant WRs also are.
Yes, naturally the veteran sealclubbing with KV-1E and its lineup, or a 5-player squad spamming the triple Strv 122 lineup will have a higher WR than me, who is currently playing a half-assed 11.0 Chinese lineup at 12.7 squadded up with my friend and his sub-optimal Italian 11.7 grinding lineup, which leads us to end up on mostly Click-Bait teams against Leopard 2A7s/Strv 122s/Russia combined.
Yet, it appears my Italian main friend and I are having more fun playing the game than those who hyperventilate whenever their WR/KD drops by a decimal and who love insulting and belittling anyone who has lower stats than them.
I wouldn’t take it too seriously - being in a downtier can give you a better chance to influence the battle but there are just as many ways to influence the battle when you’ve been uptiered. It just stresses the importance of line-ups, because some vehicles are way more suited than others. It’s why I never worry about being uptiered, because I will have already thought about what vehicles work better in that environment. However, if you’re uptiered into the death zone (USA top-tier) then forget everything I’ve just said, haha. Heck, even a down-tier doesn’t seem to help them out at that point.
If for example rewards were to go away completely for being on the losing team, imagine then that you are playing an 8.0 GRB lineup and you start a match with mostly a full uptier. Then within the first 4 minutes of the match your team starts to get spawn camped hard, your team has no objectives, and only one spawn location.
Would you stay in the match and keep spawning in knowing that your team is very likely to lose and there for you wont get any rewards?
Maybe you would, but the better question is would the majority of players stay in the match in this situation? You and I both know the answer is no.
I would never do such a thing. I would, however, do my 8.3 line-up:
And I would continue to welcome uptiers because vehicles like the Falcon, ZA-35, ZT3A2 do not care if they’re facing 9.3s. Being spawn camped and the team being wiped out would have little to do with the simple fact my line-up was uptiered. But if there was no reward potential for the loss, obviously you would just bail instead of continuing to spawn more vehicles, especially if all hope is lost. I’m not disputing that.
