Exactly. The ONLY reason why I now keep spawning till the very end, even on clear and absolute defeats and even when the spawn point is surrounded, is that I know that, if I do well enough, I’ll still get rewarded, even on a guaranteed defeat.
Take those rewards away and I don’t know about others, but I’m not gonna keep doing this xD.
Falcon is a savage in the city, the other day in north holland map we were like 10000 points short in tickets and outnumbered by enemy players left in the team, it only takes two guys who use backups and respawn in Falcon continue to push the objective points, both of them has a combined of >10 kills and literally turn that losing match around into winning one, they just annihilate the enemies one by one and they start leaving and near the end they have like two players left and run out of tickets due to failing to decap.
It’s why OP is dreaming and we’re wasting time even bothering with this topic, of course. Right now, with a premium account - you basically cannot lose SL. So there is no incentive not to keep spawning vehicles. Sometimes I make all my RP and SL in my 3-4 or even 5-6 respawn. The only reason people are one-death-leaving is because they simple don’t have a back up or they’re trying to preserve their precious stats.
Indeed. I keep respawning over and over again not only hoping for a comeback when possible, but also accepting defeat even when a comeback may not be possible, but not without a last stand.
Without this, there’s no more reason to either fight for a comeback, nor to stay for a last stand.
So yeah; do this “so that I try harder to win”, and what will happen is that I will stop even trying on defeats like these;
Notice how OP accuses those of us of “being killing campers who don’t play the objective”, yet on every match here I have 1, 3 and 2 caps respectively, one of the matches ending with me literally inside one of the caps.
Those are the best battles and they certainly make me feel good inside. I had this match a while back where I first spawned a Turm III - got myself nuked with not even a single hit on the enemy. Used a backup on the Turm III and then got sniped just out of spawn. Most people probably would have left in frustration. Two deaths with nothing to show for it in one of the most OP premiums in the game - but I then went on to get 15 kills and our team ended up winning (we were already being spawn camped on my second death, I spawned the M48 (which I never usually use) at the other spawn and spent the battle eating the spawn campers). It’s games like that which stick with me and I remember.
Which I would not even remember if it wasn’t for those screenshots. It really is those games where you come back against the odds that stick with you, and OP wants to kill those moments.
Ah, so I am not alone! HAHAH! Very lovely matches!
I don’t know why, but this is common for me too.
Spawn Al-Khalid-I, die without doing anything.
Spawn T-80UD/BE, get a kill, die.
Spawn ZTZ 96A (P)… and suddenly I get 9 kills and 3 caps xD.
As you said, it’s precisely because of this that I keep respawning till I run out of SP. Instead of leaving in frustration, I keep trying; because, who knows, maybe the third spawn is the charm; even with the worse vehicle of the lineup. Maybe it’s a matter of opportunity/positioning/match state, or whatever.
But yeah. I never got the “I didn’t do well on my first spawn so I will leave the match for another”. The amount of comebacks those people miss…
That’s why I was wanting you to grind out the AFT09 asap, the thing is cheap to spawn and can either help with a come back or at least punish the spawn campers as your team goes down in a blaze of glory
It really is the perfect vehicle for people like us.
That’s LOVELY! Sadly, I have a 900,000 RP grind till AFT09; so at least 6 days worth of grind, hahah. I may go after it once I get HQ17 and ZTZ-99A, which would be in 3 days! (2 for the ZTZ and 1 for the HQ).
Second spawn or third spawn usually a hit or miss for me, survival chance drastically goes down if enemy is waiting outside our spawn, if we still have teammates scattered all over the places then I think the odds of coming back and turn things around is higher base on my experience, I rarely have good runs on my second spawn in a losing team, just lots of gamble with luck and sometimes find the person who killed me peeking the cover and we both just hesitate to engage until someone interferes lol
Let’s say you’re playing a good prem vehicle at top tier (like the Leopard 2A4M CAN) and you get an almost perfect at-tier with some lower BR guys sprinkled in, cheery right?
Your entire team is made up of Fuji’s and Clickbaits with only one other German player, in another 2A4M, none of them have good lineups, you need exactly 3k RP to get the Leo2A5 and it’s been 17 hours of grinding, abysmal, your skin needs some melanin. Entire enemy team is made up of T-72B3s, Modernas, Italian/French Leopards, and a few sprinkled T-80U-E1s. You rack up that 3k needed and you’re just giddy as hell, wooting so hard it’s waking the neighbours, but your tickets are at 300 and theirs far higher. You spent the whole match in a perpetual power struggle, advancing and retreating from the points, getting caught in large firefights with everything red and ready to die, and you get the glorious “Mission Failed” and are met with a beautiful “6 Ground Targets Destroyed - 4,563 RP”, followed immediately by “Loss Penalty: -90%”.
You spent the entire match, in a perpetual power struggle fighting for the victory yearning for that 2A5 that’s just inches within reach, and you get completely scammed out of your RP because the snail gods gave you one giant middle finger and gave you a team of ODLs and Lvl 1s. I’m like 90% sure punishing the masses for the mistakes of the few is a warcrime in the Geneva Conventions so a simple rebuttal to your idea: no
Realistically, if we wanted a system like this to work, penalties wouldn’t be the answer. Simply: give RP/SL boosters for “Tactical” maneuvers, such as: Flanking a capping enemy group on the B point and scoring a cheeky 4 in 3 cause there just so happened to be a light tank there with a perfect shot to overpen and kill it and a T-72. All this loss penalty would do is incur more financial loss for both Gaijin and the playerbase, as broken keyboards/monitors coincide with declining premium sales.
Dude not even joking I ran a little test the other day: I played 5 matches in the Clickbait and 5 in the Swedish T-80U. iirc I won 1/5 US matches I played and like 3/5 of the Swedish matches, with the 2 losses I was paired with US. Ik I’m part of the problem but the truth with US winrates is true as hell.
I also did average decently well in those matches, at least 3-4 kills per match with I wanna say a good few caps
Also for reference: With the Clickbait I had Backups and the M1A1 AIM, with the T-80U I just had backups
Statistically, looking at weekly thunderskill data, you’re just in for a bad time as USA (https://wt.controlnet.space/). People thought they had it hard being stuck on teams of base bombing (rocketing) F-4S in AIRRB, but USA ground is taking the cake at higher BRs, these days. I feel sorry for those who just want to enjoy the Abrams and others and are being let down by bad teams and one death leavers.
Worst idea ever because you made WT into pay to repair because the repair cost would scare new players away just to spend real money to repair they verhicle. New players = losing battle = no silver = no more WT unless they spend real money to buy silver.
Look, yet another match which according to OP should not have given me any rewards, from just now;
I was almost certain it was a defeat 3 minutes into the match, yet I kept respawning over, and over, and over, and over again- even backups, because, since 2022, defeats at least have still decent rewards as long as you do well enough on them.
Do you think I would have bothered to respawn even twice once I saw the match was leading to a defeat if defeat rewards were removed? Not at all.
