Why is one side fucked if there are two modes, one with and one without CAS? Sounds a lot like CAS fans have their way as it is.

Why yes? And how it would work? They are afraid of long queue times now. Separating ground mode into two will not help it.
How long was your last ground queue? It takes seconds, if that at most BRs for ground rb

There is no problem because you can later on remove them as votes to examine those who do want the mode.
Only questioning those who will play the mode without taking into account those who won’t, is not an accurate representation.
Because CAS mains will need people to bomb in their planes. And we need you guys in your tanks as our victims.

Yes. I won’t shy from it. My concern is that if less people play combined battles, then there will be less tanks to bomb. It’s that simple. I don’t want combined battles to die.
