Much, much more, to the point they’re happy to endanger the core gameplay in order to get money.
No one really knows that, not even Gaijin, that’s why they are scared to do anything on that topic. It may seriously backfire and there’s no coming back at that point, at least without major consequences.
They aren’t worrying about the subject, they’ll just keep saying no to it, like they did with other “set in stone” things but guess what, loads of those things got changed very quickly after the public ridicule they received over on Steam.
Gaijin is doing this for monetary reasons, not because reasons anti-TO people like you to believe.
Recently I’ve been playing 5.3 of Britain, and since way back in the past I played with British air I have some fighters unlocked. Quickly strafing an open topped SPAA with my 20mms from great distances is not that hard even for me, a total noob in air vehicles.
Frustration is warranted, it disgusts me seeing them spawn in wide open fields with first hard cover being a minute away lol.
taking off on a top striker at 5.7 costs 850 points, while on a toptier the cost per plane can reach 1K+
Remind me how much a nuke costs?
Then I propose to take points from tankers for shells, smokes and artillery. exactly the same as for aphe/ap from AA.
want to pierce/shoot down - pay RP
at the same time, an armor-piercing tape on an airplane costs 150 RP (like a tank), an anti-aircraft always costs 70
AA is already rewarding, can fight against tanks, costs small
First of all, many tanks don’t have roof mounted MGs to begin with.
Second of all, even if they did their elevation is pretty bad in most cases so thinking your MGs will save you is hilariously foolish.
Still doesn’t disprove what I said above.
Also, just because they can, in theory, go against tanks, doesn’t mean they’re efficient or viable at doing that task.
If you have 11.7 vehicles, you can only bring 11.7 aircraft ?
I’ve been playing WT since 2015, starting with planes. I think it was around 2019-2020 I started playing tanks (with a controller), and absolutely loved it. However with the addition of CAS, It feels like I’m losing a tank to CAS about 1/3rd of the time, which is really high. I support all of your suggestions. Something has to be done to balance GRB.
Which is less than spawning CAS which in turn takes about 1 assist and being shot at a few times, so not really an issue. People complain about uptiers when in that position it is even easier to provide support (air and ground), some people just like to make excuses.
The only official answer I ever saw was on a stream by Gaijin and the “does not fit our vision” reasoning.
I get the feeling all other reasons are just what players have brought up over the years. Even queue times hasn’t been linked to being against TO officially, people just brought that from other topics I think.
Nice answer because a fighter starting at rank 2 can be used in CAS role do. In fact that a fighter can carry bombs for a single run is enough and cheaper then deploy a real CAS.
I just played a quick game as Israel in an M51 at 6.0 .I killed a UK tank, presumably a Challenger. The guy just revenge bombed me in a Strike Master. My CAS for GRB for Israel is a Me109 at 3.3,I mean WTF? So i am in a M51 against some guy in a Strike Master when I can’t get Jet CAS until 7.7 .SPAA is 4.0 BR.
F**k it I just ODL’d .
It may be a long time before I play Israel again or even WT at this rate. Really struggling to get a good game lately. The latest changes really f***ed it. Can’t be botherd.
It’s wild that in air games there’s AI controlled SPAA for literally no reason at all but to be annoying but in ground forces we cannot get any sort of base protection, the only AA protection exists to protect planes from other planes, and helicopters are freaking cosmetic for some reason.
