Su-27SKM

Aircraft Info:

Spoiler

The Su-27SKM is a 4+ generation multi role fighter made by the Sukhoi design bureau, and is a export modification based upon the Su-27SK, while borrowing avionics from the Su-27SM. Giving it all the abilities of a 4+ gen fighter such as giving the ability to target and engage aerial and ground targets in day and night under all weather conditions, ability to engage multiple targets at once and a improved cockpit with new MFD LCD displays. With Indonesia being the only customer of Su-27SKM, only 3 serial production variants would be built + 1 demonstrator/prototype.

Aircraft history:

Spoiler

in the early 2000s Sukhoi decided they wanted to create a new export moderation program for their Su-27SKs wanting it to be a equivalent to the Su-27SM made for the Russian aerospace forces, adding multi role capability with the ability to use precision guided munitions. With the first and only demonstrator prototype having been built in 2003 by converting the only Su-30KI prototype, With the brand new prototype being called the Su-27SKM and receiving the air frame number gray 305. With 305 making its public debut the same year at the MAKS airshow, and gray 305 would continue to appear at airshows in the coming years. With Indonesia being the only country to take any interest in the Su-27SKM platform. And later at the MAKS 2007 show it was announced that the TNI-AU (Indonesian air force) having agreed to purchase 3 of the Su-27SKM alongside 3 of the Su-30MK2 jets. With the first two being delivered to Indonesia on September 10th 2010 having been transported there onboard a AN-124-100 and the last one shortly after on September 16th. With these having been officialy transferred over to the TNI-AU on September 27th 2010 and entering service, with them being assigned to the 11th squadron based the the Sultan Hassanuddin air base near Makassar.

A fully fledged Indonesian sub-tree for Japan would be absolutely hilarious with the silliest combination of Western, Eastern and Native weapons.

it would be very funny

+1! just like the Su-30s this also get the pseudo-splinter camo as well (albeit with a different tail insignia)

The Indonesian sub tree for air has so many options. Thailand was a bit underwhelming (they forgot the WW2 aircraft and the WW2 surplus aircraft 😭) Anyway the Su30 in game is one of the best planes I played at top tier so far subtract there are aircraft with better radar.

prebuff su-27sm coming

Lol is this a reference to the Indonesian Sci-fi web novel?

japan about to have literally every high-gen plane aside an eurofighter XD

also +1, very well done suggestion

There maybe a way. (Eurofighter had a Japan Project parts possibly built)

an ultra-what if, but considering the swedish T80U, not even impossible

Basically Su-27SM with Su-27 engine :v
I’m much prefer this over Indonesian Su-30MK2/MKK which we already got 2 ingame.

ahh that one you mean, i checked it and the what-if looks promising, but unless proof of actual built-in is found, i’m afraid it will not go far

can tell you by experience :)

Yep but its the best possible option and we already have something similar added with the same logic the F-16J but ya the Japanese tree is going to be one of the best with the export projects and the sub trees if Gaijin goes all out.

Mayhaps

i know but it’s not a good example, that one like MI28A was added for lack of similar vehicles in that update so it isn’t a good comparision, swedish T80U was literally useless and not needed at 11.3 BR with zero lineup vehicles, T80U is a better example

going on, i support the comment, it’s interesting
