Or, just decompress properly.
There are a decent number of Fox-1 slingers capable of handling themselves pretty ok against Fox-3 slingers.
most notable ones being ER carriers

I don’t think it’s unfair for something like an F-4F ICE to face SARH tbh
yeah, many early Fox-3 carriers have big disadvantages to justify their lower br which makes them relatively balanced.
Something like the premium flankers though…

The only exceptions would be the 3rd generation fighters with FOX3 and the F-14s.
The issue is that the weakest of the Fox-3 slingers are probably weaker than the strongest SARH slingers, or at the very least on-par and so shouldnt be totally isolated from them. (Sea Harrier FA2 for example probably should be 12.7 at the moment, and many others aren’t doing well at 13.0 due to the compression) Creating a hard bracket like this would result in the strong Fox-1 aircraft just dominating that bracket and the weak Fox-3 slingers being rendered DOA.
This is the same reason why you dont have seperate brackets for those with Fox-1s and those without or those with IRCCM and those without, etc etc.
