I have never seen a more tolerant playerbase ever (in a bad way)

Is it just me or is every change that gaijin does is recieved negatively but the outcome is always the playerbase just being ok with it ? The bugs the premium spam for updates the lack of good ground economy the br changes. They are mostly badly recieved yet people just keep putting up with these things.

The majority of what your perception about it is because those that complain tend to be very vocal, while those that like or ok with the changes never say very much/anything.
It’s the old “squeaky wheel gets the grease” kinda thing.
Except Gaijin already has a place for the grease lined out.
And another thing about all that is the player’s need for “immediacy” . .
They clamor for everything that they want done to be done Right NOA!!

Granted, many things, bug reports and other such things, have and do sit without any action at times. Sometimes for very long period of times. And other changes are made with little to no advance warning and for no apparent good reason or demand from the players. But that’s ok . . . it is after all, Gaijin’s game and they can what they want and develop it in any direction or way that they choose.

While our participation is needed and much appreciated, our approval is not required . . . like with most things in the world. And the other very important thing about it, that is very often overlooked by the player base . . .
Ain’t no way in hell or on God’s green earth that Gaijin will ever be able to do ANYTHING that the entire player base would be totally/100% happy with . .
They could give us all a chuck of FREE GE and guess what . . . many would complain it wasn’t enough . . . again, way of the world.

But often, the portion of the player base that complains about something come off like this:
Do Not Want

When, this would prolly work better:
Please . .

It’s all perception
LOL

I mean the forum here and reddit are both just very vocal minorities. Looking at the player numbers and the amount of people buying premiums the direction seems to be what the general players want. Its important that the players keep complaining about eternal bugs that dont get fixed, shoddy modelling work and the research economy but the people that act like theyre forced to play the game despite hating it are getting annoying

The people here and in other forums are for the most part long term players that want to see the game do better. So, there is going to be alot of negativity here.

However Gaijin wants to pander more to the “short term” players that may only play the game for a few months but buy a premium or two in that time.

Unfortunately, there are far more of the “short term” players than there are of players like us. Gaijin, like most video game devs now a days, only seems to care about the money flow. and as such they dont care to make the game better so long as they are making money in an easier way.

But thats the question: What does “better” mean? Sure bug fixes are a given and faster economy would be nice for everyone but as soon as you go into gameplay youre going to have a lot of different opinions what “better” is.

to make the game better of course. There are many forms of that from simple bug fixes to new maps, new game modes ect ect.
I dont really count adding vehicles as making the game better. Sure, you are adding more to the game that way, but it does nothing to really change the game.

Gaijin hasnt done a whole lot to make the game better in years. Sure, they may release an event that has a cool game mode, but then they never actually refine the game mode and put it in the game permanently. And most of their “bug fixes” to vehicles just make the vehicles worse, and in some cases borderline unplayable (veak for example).

Im absolutely with you, the gamemodes and maps are super stale at this point and did not evolve properly alongside the new vehicles. However thats kind of my point , we as old players want stuff like this to make the game better but im sure theres a lot of players that value “new cool plane” more than “new game mode that veterans enjoy”

Well “better” is hard to define if for example one group thinks bigger maps are better while the other prefers smaller maps. Or especially vehicle loadouts/fm’s like R73s on the 9.13, the rather controversial Kh38, Aim120c

Personally i play 12 years this game…
I have no hope that it will get better.
I’ll just play till something better gets in the market .
And i don’t take things seriously… This is not a game to take seriously.

Real and true, dude.

To be honest im half my playtime down in € and i could quit any time i want. But i dont since the game is still fun… sometimes when the stars align at least. But it is getting worse, barely any capable player to fight in Air RB, no vehicle diversity, short and repetitive matches on empty maps where you fight your own team half of the time to get something done. Im just gone as soon as something similar to WT comes out.

The economy was improved. Easier to stay out of an SL deficit. The RP requirement for unlocking vehicles was reduced, as well as their purchasing and crewing costs.

Like I said; Alittle better.

Ive been playing the game since just around the economy controversy and despite that one change I cant say the game has actually progressed in any good way to keep players or do anything (let alone good) to welcome new players.

Gaijin knows there is NO real competition in this games genre and are likely quite complacent from it, focusing on rather extreme acceleration of newer technologies at top tier and completely forgetting where players start and where many stick (low to mid tier), not to mention the new set of top tier premiums every update.

The main issue comes from here and the disgusting sewer depths that is reddit

The most vocal of the playerbase (predominantly players of the big 3 nations naturally) are all very demanding of new stuff while also actively stunt the few times gaijin has looked to improve the game. They are also often very hostile to minor nations getting anything even somewhat good unless they have it first and better no matter what it is keeping 3 nations dominant and starving the 5% that plays each minor nation out of competitiveness.

the APHE rework was misunderstood by uneducated players as a nerf so that was gone. The turret ring change to leopard and abrams fell to the same fate when realistically it was still more favourable than the autoloaders on T64 family tanks.
The economy changes were also a little too extreme into the opposite end, even the worst players are swimming in SL now

There may be some massive things soon such as intantry (lol bye bye enlisted, poor game never had a chance after the screw up on steam) but I just hope gaijin realises a lot of the vocal minority are a bunch of morons who don’t understand how the game works and instead focus on repairing the damaged relationship they have with more technical minded players. In other words make big changes in their community liaison people and especially who moderates the bug reporting site, there’s reports that get ignored or refused despite being perfectly accurate just because a moderator doesn’t feel like accepting it (or they just don’t understand the technical side of the report)
