So, I’ve been grinding the Entendard using the Vautour IIB (because I’m poor and can’t afford a premium), and I’ve been calling a base right out the gate like one traditionally would.

Typically in the past, I’d have little issue with people taking the base regardless of my call-out. But, now, people just run ahead in strike aircraft or interceptors and just take it, and the adjacent base, anyways.

I don’t know when this BS started, but it’s pretty damn annoying when you’re in a pure bomber and everyone just bombs all the bases before you can get halfway there.

Am I the only one noticing this more lately?

Yeah. Had a Mig-23ML just take a base that I had called out and had been traveling towards for ages.

As @qpranger said, the grinding has taken upon people’s head, whatever bit of points you can get matters as team-based gameplay in most gamemodes can be completely ignored. War Thunder rewards for personal performance, not team-based gameplay outside of victories.

WT doesn’t teach etiquette anymore, im pretty sure tha last time someone explained the “attention to the map!” was 2 years ago.

Also WT playerbase is very focused on the “grind” for top tier and not on the “fun” or “vehicles”, once those players meet the brickwall they’ll regret it.

I dunno if it’s people becoming less courteous or just the hordes of premium high speed napalm carriers enabling it.
The best one is when they fly under you AFTER you have dropped your bombs and kill the base before they hit.

Yeah, i played the SU-24M and MIG-27. With the MIG you can maybe reach a base, but the SU-24 just isn’t a useful plane. They either, like i said many times, add more targets and make big maps full with missions. Or just remove the plane, it has no other use.

It took me 105 battles to get to the SU-34, i have no premium time too.

  1. It is a public MP game and you should seldom rely on the genorosity of others
  2. The poor stock grind for many planes that start with below average performance and a pair of subpar missles unfortunately forces many fighters to farm rp via bombing

there is only 5 bases on the map and likely more people who want to bomb a base with everyone having enough bombs to kill 2 or 3 bases by themselves so they simply take the quick reward since your struggle isnt their problem just as their struggle isnt yours all you can do is hope to survive long enough for the bases to respawn and claim a few of your own claiming something via map marker has never worked for me either if it makes you feel a little better
