I kept reading about how great this plane is and what an amazing dogfighter is, so in my mind i expected a better F8U-2 and what i got instead is a worse MiG-19PT at 11.0
How do people even lose to this thing? All you have to do is literally fly away and turn around. What is the F-5E gonna do? Fire his 2 limp Aim-9Js which are just glorified Aim-9Es?
Alternatively you can just turn fight at low speeds and watch him struggle to not hit the ground
The cannons, which realistically are the only weapons he has, are worse than F8U-2 since they have lower velocity and only gets 2 and don’t do any damage
I kept reading bad advice such as “climb to 3k alt”, those are probably MiG and Phantom players looking for free kills. Or “energy trap the enemy team” lmao, the only one ending up trapped is the F5 since those weak ass engines cannot accelerate when needed and energy retention doesn’t help since a MiG will just cut into your wide slow turn and will stay on your six and will get all his energy back in like 5 seconds. One turn with a hint of vertical is all it takes to lose half your speed that you’re never getting back
I have the pilot maxed out and bought expert qualification and it will still black out at the beginning of the turn, so i guess all that energy retention comes from flying straight after blacking out, you could use negative Gs (which i do) but that only makes you wide turn even more wider, so i really don’t understand where the misconception that this plane can outturn most planes come from (i am aware of 1 circle and 2 circles and their consequences but this plane is bad at both)
I also see some older posts claiming this thing has a cold engine, like bro what? It sits at 670 C while F8U-2 is around 30-40 degrees colder lmao
How does this thing gets to 11.0 while the vastly superiour and overpowered F8U-2 sits at 10.3?
How do you lose against F-5E without sound like a noob?
This plane left me extremely disappointed and frustrated, i haven’t felt this way since the Swift F1. Only 74k rp until i get the Phantom and i’m never touching this again
