I haven’t been destroyed by a single 12.7 AA in my IRCM equipped AH-64E (the missiles are diverted), EXCEPT against BUK-M3s. Their missiles do not seem to be bothered one bit by the IRCM tech.

IRCM doesn’t work against radar missiles.
IRCM does not do anything agains ARH missiles. It is the fact helis are mostly slow/not moving, so the missile seeker does not see them.

In game rotor doppler return is not modelled. ARH missile seeker needs the target to either move relatively fast, or be high in the sky and not chaffing. So all helis are immune to ARH seeker while hovering/flying slowly, excluding the situation where the missile flies close enough to them while on DL/IOG.

You know what the IR in IRCM stands for right? Infra-Red, as in not Radar Countermeasures

Lot of heli players are smart enough to know how to sit inside the missile radar “blind spot”
Perhaps against helis yeah, tho i find its missile pretty easy to notch with chaff
