Like the Title says i am struggling to play air-rb germany like Me-262 Me-163 Ho-229 v3,

İ know i am not the best air player but i tried every trick i can like Do don’t dogfight be zoom and boom or target just who distracted are even i tried to kill bombers but nothing really work’s, should i just buy a premium Plane to skip it like G.91 R4

i cant speak on most of the German aircraft because i only have their Japanese equivalents, but i can speak on the Me-262 and Me-163

With the 262, the best strategy is to stay high and pick your targets carefully, hopefully able to just dive, shoot, and pull up. Its not really a dogfighter at all, more BnZ than anything

For the Me-163, be careful with your fuel, but altitude is what you need most. Try not to dogfight or youll lose fuel/energy quickly, but one turn BnZ esque fights work especially well

I’ve been playing this game since 2013.
No matter how hard I try, I can’t hit anyone using Me-262, unless they really want to get hit.
The guns are INSANELY bad.
The plane itself has probably the worst performance among 7.0 jets, but I can create quite a few firing opportunities, only to miss everything.
Or better, hit 1-2 shells and do absolutely no damage, because 30mm HE is somehow a joke.

So IMO, the best idea is just to avoid these jets, unlock something more usable and hope one day Gaijin adds 2x20mm gunpack to Arado-234 B, thus creating the ultimate jet dogfighter, lol.

Honestly the only tip is be fast, stay fast. Your engines are horrible at accellerating to a decent speed so try to keep up the airspeed. Which then brings up the problem of the 30mm guns. They slap but they have horrible muzzle velocity and are meant to destroy big bombers not nimble fighters. They can work but especially the guns really need practice to be effective.
The Me 163 is just overtiered, its fun but 8.0 is just too high.

Just play he162 East German 15 bis and lim5, they’re the best options. 162 outruns everyone all you do is just hit and run. The other two have the same good ability to keep speed so you be going upward while turning which lowers speed insanely fast and will get your enemy to stall before you.
You can make it without a premium but France at this rank it’s almost impossible to survive…

Do not play the Me-262, it get stronger opponents every battle like Su-9/11, you will always loose dogfights and you are not that fast to do boom and zoom. Me-163 too low fuel dont like to use it, and the 30mm not great fro mid-long engagements.

I would say to go for the He-162, its a pretty decent fast jet against prop planes, the 20mm are almost decent, use the AP belt bc HE sucks. Great for boom and zoom.

The Ho-229 I use it against tanks, very good for CAS.

If you just want to grind easy and fast the air TT, go for the IL-28.

honestly in current meta i would not play ME262s unless your playing the C models as youll always be matched against MIG-15s or F86s or F80C10s which can out do you in everything youll never be higher than a MIG-15 and your slower so cant run and your plane cant out dive them

and skip ME-163s as there fuel shortage makes them impossible

keep your speed up, dont turn near a prop.

German early jets have high skill floors.

Amongst all 262s, the Me 262 A-1/U4 is the most fun and least painful for me, but the “sniper rifle” gameplay may not be for everyone. Climb at shallow angles at high speed vs props, and none of them will touch you. Don’t go for prolonged turning engagements against more nimble planes like strikemasters.
The next best free choice is the Me 262 A-1a/Jabo, you get an air spawn.
Then there’s the rocket engine versions, which can be fun if you get cooperative opponents and know how to do energy fighting.

The Komets were severely nerfed, all you can do is climb high, cruise at a very low throttle, and join a furball or wait until someone comes to fight you. Realistically you can only support teammates.

The Ho 229 requires discipline and a non standard way to play: you have to think carefully when to expend your energy, and do your best to keep energy when you can. You have to control the plane with keyboard inputs until you need to aim for a killing shot. You can easily dodge any attack given enough speed, by making enemies lead one way using your negative G, then turning the other way (while also not turning too much, just enough to get out of fire). Recommend keeping at least 550 kmh IAS at all times.

If all you want to do is grind though the ranks, just use He 162 or any rank IV prop to get the Mig-15bis, which has a much more forgiving skill floor requirement.

I have the rare 262 A-2a too but i think the main problem for 262 are acceleration and mk108 sometimes i feel like the guns hate me
6.7 br is okay i think

You’ll have to play in a way that minimizes the effects of those qualities. If the guns are too unwieldy, get closer so you don’t need to lead as much, or get your opponent to fly slower before attacking. If the plane is not accelerating enough, fly in a way that does not rely on acceleration as much, for example, by picking enemies that have less energy than you. If someone has more energy, focus on a reversal that uses the least amount of energy, and work with your team.

I stoped using 262 in air rb and using as cas interceptor in ground rb because u can attack them from behind and if i am using air rb will use a1u1

German rank V fighters doesn’t fit this “grinding” thing. All planes are fun to play, if you know what to do, or you are willing to learn and to improve skills. Because not any of these fighters are forgiving. Consequences will hit you directly. You need patience and discipline.
With 25min time and a full lobby in most cases you aren’t able to carry a battle. Against props you will end up often in a stalemate situation.

Free to play games =

  1. Frustrate you into spending money on mods/premium time/boosters, because stock vehicles are horrible.

  2. Frustrate you into spending money on higher level premiums because the vehicle balancing is deliberately a mess.

Once you realize this, you can find under-tiered vehicles scattered around the ranks and abuse the hell out of them.

If A1/U4 got its tracers (historical) back, it would be nice. But nope.
A1/U1 could theoretically appear in game with just 2xMK103, because every single one of the guns in Me-262 nose can be removed, that’s the whole beauty of nose-mounted weapons.
A1/U1 is bad for 2 reasons:

  • 7.3
  • about 250kg too heavy on the nose to be able to compete with anything.

Removal of 2xMG151/20 and 2xMK108 would reduce the weight by about 280kg, and 2xMK103 is absolutely adequate armanent anyway.
Gaijin says “that’s not historical”.
I say: way more historical than having to fight hordes of Mig-9Ls, F-84s, and 1960-70s attackers/trainers.

GJN only reads in documents, what they want to read. Like in the case of the Mk 214 A. Belts are only standards or let’s call it recommendations. There is also written, they can be changed in any way. But that’s on site 2 of the document. Not necessary to read…

Or look at the Mk 103 on the Horten. They changed accuracy 3 times without any reports. And I assume they changed the HVAP-T belt without documentation, too, because the Me 410 / Me 262 still have it.

Actually HVAP/API is the best kind of belt possible, because it launches API at HVAP velocity (which boosts its penetration quite a lot!) and API even af API velocity is generally superior vs tanks.

I would love to have HVAP/API belt for Do-335, because pure HVAP is only good for air to air (it deals too little damage and angled penetration is just bad).

People do not understand this, but Horton ground attack belt is the best MK103 anti-tank belt in existence and anyone who thinks it should be fixed is not understanding what ge’s asking for.
Yeah, Horton yas 1 SAPHEI shell, but even this one will penetrate like 48mm if fired at 960m/s, so there’s that. While it’s a horrible APHE due to being based off realistic ballistics and having an actual realistic bottom fuse sensitivity, it’s still not bad vs tanks, as APHE is APHE, though fuse delay is pretty damn wrong.

Gaijin is too focused on new fifth and fourth
gen aircraft and forget mid tier like how is gaijin expecting me to fight with me 262 against f80 ? Should i just beg mercy that they dont focus on me ?

When I played that F-80 thing, it felt like absolute easy mode vs Germany. Sea Meteor was the problem (now that’s another easy mode plane, except teams are so bad I genuinely struggled a few times), but other than that? You can just head-on 262’s and fire till 850m away, only then dodge, and they’ll never hit you anyway, lol. It’s just sad.
