Atomic bomb was added to allow players who are good to have a chance to change the tide of the battle.

It is a great feature and should stay.

You might not like it, but I don’t like to carry teams on domination map.

If someone can get nuke in the first 7 minutes of the game you aint winning against that man.

Some things maybe worth to think about:

  1. From a holistic pov wt is just a plain vehicle based shooter - and the sole measurement of success in a shooter is the number of kills. So called objectives are just there to accelerate player interactions.

  2. Playing a shooter in multiple (or infinite) spawn game modes is usually focused on racking up the most kills or to decapitate the enemy team by killing the best enemy player as often as possible (or at least neutralize them to a large degree) in order to reduce his match impact. Winning or losing a match Is mainly a result of the right balance between these two goals and the composition of random team members.

  3. I get the point that due to the ticket concept in Ground RB outstanding performance of experienced players is not rewarded with a victory if he is blessed with a team dying like flies and subsequently create a steam roll effect allowing the enemy team to play the objective and capture the single or all 3 cap points and bleed out all tickets.

  4. So i fully understand any player with pure shooter goals whilst playing wt that they like this feature as it allows them to beat gaijins attempts to kill individual skill.

But:

  1. From a technical perspective the nuke feature allows players to beat even more skilled players without even facing them directly - all they have to do to find a way to kill the most inexperienced enemy players multiple times in order to get the SP for a nuke.

  2. With the right strategy (i watched some vids on yt with guys setting records for fastest nukes) the contest of skill with similar or higher skill players (= challenge) became obsolete - just because the nuke concept rewards the quantity of kills and not the quality of your opponents.

  3. Therefore any references regarding player skill is reduced to skill able to kill as many rookies as possible and not regarding the ability to beat similar experienced & skilled players in a direct fight - which undermines the idea of players contesting each other.

As a side note:

  • Dropping a tactical nuke on enemy troops with own troops in the blast radius is an immersion killer and contradicts all irl purposes or planned usages of these weapons.

  • Gaijin might think about a relocation of the drop area - if the would assess respawn areas as enemy logistic hubs or just the enemy airfield as tactical target a drop there would be way more realistic.

usually when I manage to get points for a nuke I simply don’t use it because it makes no sense because as you say the game ends faster. I think that they should actually improve the reward for the person who drops the bomb and for the team and maybe the enemy

Oh, here we go…

  1. Nobody is dropping a Nuke in the first 7 minutes of a battle; Try 15 minutes into the battle. Additionally, once a Nuke is airborne it means your team lost the battle 5+ minutes ago and the Nuke is simply putting a swifter end to an already determined loss. Matches are often decided in the first 5-10 minutes anyways, depending on the BR.

  2. More battle time hardly equates to more XP if you’re not accomplishing anything other than existing. Additionally, it’s been proven Gaijin has coding that cuts into earnings the more score you rack up, so it’s a moot point. I’ll also add that you’re gonna need more than 6 kills to spawn a nuke. On kills alone you need 10 at minimum - And that’s ONLY if you have zero deaths.

  3. I’ll grant the feature is absurd as it’s nuking an entire AO that still has friendlies in the zone.

  4. Like I already said; An enemy Nuke inbound means your team already lost the match 5+ minutes ago and the Nuke is simply putting a swifter end to the already determined match. Calling it a destroyer of the will to fight when the match is already decided is pure hyperbole.

I wouldn’t mind it so much, if the dammed sound didn’t continue to play after the game has ended and into the next game

I’ve had it carry on into the hanger but not into the next match. Good ole’ spaghetti code.

Lmao

What is currently the fastest nuke record? 1:04? 1:03? Something like that.

Now, it would be cool, if the dropped nuke would give you actual kills, like - you dropped a nuke - you killed 10 enemies - you get RP for it.

Just because usain bolt holds world record for sprinting 100m under 10 secods doesnt mean that everyone is also capable of doing it.

Literally impossible to get a nuke that fast in WT.

Literally. Impossible.

And I don’t count custom battles if it’s even possible in custom battles.

Heck yeah. He who gets 7min nukes gonna win against teh snail.

Try a 4 minute nuke on Breslau (Wanted the kill record but my shot didn’t register on a Type 90, 3000 SP)
