As I understand it, this is exactly what the I-Derby ER does IRL.
then yeah we dont have that but there should be no issue in just modeling it as a normal missile. pretty sure thats what itll behave like on a close range shot anyways
If that will be the case, in quite sure it will simply be the same as normal Derby. I dont think the combined power of both pulses is much stronger than the standard motor of Derby. Or at least i dont know anything about it. If anything, it could be worse due to the fact some space that in the standard is filled propelant, will be occupied by the pulse valve mechanism.
How can it be worse? the current Derby we have is the worst
The missile motor has a set size

If the propelant is the same (thats what i said in my case, i do not know it) the overall volume of the propelant will be smaller, as the pulse separation device has to be put between pulses

The I-Derby ER is marginally heavier than the I-Derby/Derby iirc, although that’s possibly just a side effect of having two stages, but who knows maybe it has slightly more thrust or just better propellants idk.
If I had to guess it probably had about the same amount of thrust as the other Derbys in total, meaning about the same performance at close ranges of it had to fire both stages one after another for close ranges. What I’m interested in is if the second stage is longer burning than the first, and if so by how much, as well as if it has variable thrust control for the second stage. Depending on how the second stage performs, it could be even better from close to medium ranges where the other Derbys might lose a lot of energy to drag and maneuvering, while the ER would retain said energy a lot better at the cost of being slightly slower initially.
Alright thats reasonable, but i’ll take any missle thats slightly better than the I-Derby SR
Mmm heard enough, give SPYDER AiO the regular Derby and never touch it again
What im saying, is that if the missile does not have 2 pulses modeled, it would be (in case propelant is the same) worse, as the propelant will be ignited instantly, not in pulses, so you get less thrust in total.
Normal missile
Lets say a single stage 10kN over 4s
Dual pulse
2 pulses, 2s and 4.8kN each.
That means if the missiels does not have the pulse mechanic implemented, it would be worse.
Or just give it a proper SAM Gajijn nerfed the hell out of the Spyder
All the Spyder needs is a long range missle
The best missile AIO can get is ER.
Yeah than thats what we need but its Gajijn i dont really think they’ll do it
That can be solved via SPYDER-MR/LR systems then, which would be entirely separate vehicles and systems ofc, but it would provide the ranges you desire (60-80km ranges)

If you’re talking about the SPYDER AiO exclusively, the best it can get is the I-Derby ER as that’s the best missile it’s compatible with. It has the smaller launchers, it’s not capable of the larger booster capable ones.
I dont think we have any way of knowing it as of now.
Dunno, while it is not impossible, i doubt it.
IF they would not want to model dual pulse, we would be stuck to MR.
Also i forgot, do you know if P5 MR range was 40 or 50 km?
But didn’t they say they had plans for the Spyder aio? and MR/LR would be an amazing thing for Isreal
Last I checked the P5 MR is 40km
Thanks
Wouldn’t even be mad if it was 30km all Gajijn needs to do is buff is SPYDER or add a new SPYDER variant
