Could anyone tell me why is this plane 9.3? It faces mostly full uptiers and has no countemeasures, it doesn’t turn that well and the weapons are basically AIM 9Es… So I get dunked on most of the time. I can’t catch MiG 21s, if I fire a missile, they flare it most of the time.

Probably they won‘t Change anything but i think the Hunter is a good Airframe + AIM-9Es are decent for the BR. The Only Problem is 10.3 is pretty popular so you‘ll Face Many uptiers
The plane isn’t terrible, but it’s more of a 9.0 territory.
By comparison it has hunter f6 performance and 9e, so it’s better than 9.0 j34 and a bit worse than hunter f9
BUT Compression.
I dunno, I’d much rather fly the Hunter F.58 than the Hunter F.6. 9.3 is a better BR than 9.7. However the whole 9.3 - 10.3 BR bracket is kinda cooked atm because of the F-106s. Wait until 9.3 calms down again after the event is over and people are over the F-106 fever in two weeks.
Can’t be, there are a lot more Mig21 without flares. The only Mig21 with flares are MF/SMT (only in full uptier) or a SPS with flare pod, what is rather rare. So most of the Migs are free kill, if you play it right. The Hunter holds way better energy than any Mig21 at this BR range.
Additionally you can carry 12 rockets as flares in some sense.
But 9.3 is unplayable today because of the 106 spam.
I played it yesterday and it was a mess. 2 times I was the only one without a 106 in my team, and guess what, the only one with kills. lol
Was spading my F-106 yesterday. I saw Mig-21 SMTs and Mig-21 MFs a lot because of constant full uptiers, I played like 30 games yesterday in the F-106, and of them, 20 had 10.3s lol
Honestly I should be playing my Hunter F.6 right now and farm the F-106s.

The rhodesian hunter is the exact same and its brilliant. Its also significantly better than the F7 hunter which is even higher
The BR is compressed to hell. You could spread 8.3 to 9.7 over about 2 or 3 BRs. Many aircraft should be spread more out. For example the J34 which is basically a Hunter F1 with 9Bs is only 0.3 BR lower and the French Hunter F6 at the same BR as the FGA9/F58 only has 9Bs and the weaker engine.
As much as the Hunters (bar the one with flares) suck in an uptier. Fighting a F58 in an 8.3 like the Javelin sucks just as much.
They really need to do something about that BR

I will admit. I find the Aim-9Es very hit or miss. Literally. Sometimes they work great and others they just go " you know what, I can’t be bothered" and just miss

Yeah, and we’re restricted to that missile in the Mirage IIIS C.70 at 10.3 to use them, even though we should have 9P-3 at the very least…

I tend to only use any sidewinder weaker than a 9G as a missile to catch base rushers or to stop people extending out of a turnfight. I personally have found the E to be very good at that however using it in thew same missile spam manner later sidewinders get used in it falls off hard
So just like most 9.3 then, i don’t see what’s wrong.
