HUD indicator for currently selected weapon is almost impossible to use

Yes, so if you got 2x AIM-9M and 1x AIM-120A, and it will show thusly:

⊳ AAM AIM-9M 2/3

OR

⊳ AAM AIM-120A 1/3

, depending on what you selected.

Well, you actually can’t

Because for example if you have AIM-120B and AIM-9M left, it only shows AIM-120B, unless you actually select the AIM-9M

So it doesn’t even tell you what you have left … There’s basically no point in having it …

It’s not about category
It’s about multiple models for each category

AGM: AGM-113A and AGM-65D
AAM: AIM-120B and AIM-9M
GBU: GBU-39 (And you could potentially carry other GBU types simultaneously as well, but I usually don’t)

But I know that I got both 9M’s and 120A’s, so AIM-9M 2/1 tells me perfectly well I got 2 Sidewinders and 1 AMRAAM!

I dunno, I’ve flown a lot of types with multiple weapons types of multiple store categories all the time, but never had any issue about exactly knowing what I got selected and left. Maybe could be a problem if at the same time you bring 3 different bombs or missiles, which is quite unusual in my experience…

No it does NOT tell you that …

Can you see the AIM-9M here? no you don’t
All you see is “4 AIM-120B”

You have to select either AIM-120B or AIM-9M for it to actually show you that you have two AAM types left.

So the current system is completely pointless, because if they remove the name of unselected weapons, you could still see you have two types of AAMs left when you select an AAM, just like you can do now …

I mean that’s not true at all for example planes like the F18 and Eurofighter’s etc have MFD pages that show the weapons on each pylon and what is selected. Also you can always look at your aircraft and see what you got attached if need be.

I’m not talking about what I have attached

This is about what weapon is selected (through the weapon selector)

seems like it

Did you read the first post?

And that’s the problem? remembering you also brought 'Winders along?!?`

Completely useless is too harsh, but I don’t disagree it couldn’t be optimized. = )

It’s obviously a balance of info vs. cluttering, and I’d be all for having more possibility/freedom to configure the HUD interface…

But “completely useless”? Naaah…

LOL
I just love this thread

I never said that’s the problem

You argued that you liked the current interface (and don’t want it changed like I described) because it tells you that you have both AIM-9 and AIM-120 left

I merely pointed out that what you say you like and “find useful” about the current interface would be no different whether they remove the name of unselected weapons or keep them

It shows you that you have two or more AAM types left, only when you select the weapon (And not when an AAM is not selected)

And you would have the exactly same thing even if they remove the name of unselected weapons …

Can you please tell me one single use for it?!

Yes I did as Schindibee is saying you’re be way to harsh is their room for improvement yes ofc, but its coming of as you want to just brush peoples suggestions off.

Hmmm

Well, I was the one who suggested the change

Didn’t see anyone suggesting an alternative solution …

@TheKnightOfZero @Schindibee @TheMightySardine @山_田_凉

Instead of attacking me and essentially implying I’m blind or stupid for finding the current interface pointless, why don’t the four of you state one reason that the current system of showing the name of unselected weapons along with the selected weapon is useful?

Because showing unselected weapons doesn’t affect visibility of selected ones??

Because the game assumes you have more than single braincell and you remember your loadouts or how many missiles you shot already. And like others said, you can also visually check on your aircraft what you have remaining or on the MFDs in cockpit on lot of them.

Well that’s actually funny

Speaking of braincells, remembering how many missiles I have left doesn’t tell me what missile is currently selected

It does tho, cause its literally written there. And it shows you once you select AAMs. Schindibee shown you that example.
