HSTV-L VS. the 2S38 (BR)

I wouldn’t mind it going to 10.7, but that should be more than enough.
Also, I believe loads of similar vehicles are actually overtiered and aren’t as effective as they look, so I wouldn’t have a problem with 9040C (and others alike) to move down in BR by a bit.

This is simply wrong in every single way. Rounds bouncing is not what’s different; it’s penetration. You often do not kill a tank in the first shot with the HSTV-L and 2S38. If you have a round with low spall, a faster reload decreases the time to kill by a lot. I doubt you play naval, but battlecruisers are typically more deadly than battleships despite having worse armor and guns because they have half the reload speed of a BB.

@Space_Cat
If you don’t frag a tank in the first shot, you reload faster than the enemy anyway.

I see you took my take on battlecruisers and didn’t credit me.
Stop with the antagonism.

But that faster reload does help, especially if you fail to knock out the gun/gunner. It also allows a much quicker time to kill, which is very useful against multiple enemies.

A faster RoF for autocannons does make a large difference in tanks. Compare the BMP-2 to the BMP-3/BTR/BMD-4. It’s firing the exact same ammunition, but the BMP-2 has a substantial advantage in that it fires those rounds almost twice as quickly. This gives several advantages:

  • Assuming the rounds don’t oneshot, it gives a faster TTK on average, allowing the enemy less time to react.
  • It also means more damage done in a shorter period of time, helping knock out engines/turret rings/crew members/etc faster to prevent the enemy from responding.
  • A faster TTK means you can spend less time on a single enemy, allowing you to react faster to multiple enemies at once.
  • For rounds with marginal penetration, it gives more oppertunities in the same period of time to find an weakspot for the rounds to go through.
  • It’s more forgiving for misplaced shots, as you can try again faster.

The only time I’d say that a high rate of fire isn’t inherently advantageous is when it’s tied to a small ammo pool, since it encourages wasteful spraying and results in running out faster (CV 9040s most notably). Even then, that can be played around.

Huh? What?..

Yeah . . .

It’s because br decompression needs to happen again

Well if that went to 10.7 they’d have to move one of the 10.3 AAs down to balance it. As it is the best Russian at that br. Idk about the osa, haven’t played that yet

Strela outshines 2S38 for aircraft easily.

Strela and osa are the same br.

Eh I’ve found the strela to be 50/50 even ok unaware aircraft.

Nothing is worse that the Sidam mistral though for Italy lol what a joke

since its reload buff, the HSTVL is an absolte fking menace of a tank if you aren’t in something extremely armoured.

It should be 11.0

sometimes the spall doesnt generate tho, so theres that
gaijin still need to fix hstvl depression, it should has substaintial depression(-17 front and -6 back, as well as -45 on both side) and the ammunition the current round is basically delta 1 which is like 60s apfsds level penetration, when it should have delta 3, which is m774 level penetration. But gaijin rejected all of the bug report on its round because of “holy balance”, and even go as far as to reject primary sources from the military/manufactures and tests itself because of “holy balance” again

Same with rdflt, it has no armor/isnt 50cal resistances has less survivability, slower and barely than 2s38, has terrible reverse speed for a light tank, no smoke grenade, terrible model(same as hstvl, incorrect side gun depression and slightly missing frontal depression-ingame its like 12 instead of 13)

If it had the m774 level pen it would be ridiculously strong though? The things an absolute menace as i said to anything at top tier not heavily armoured.

Generally never had much of an issue until its reload was buffed.

Hstvl armour is also mega trolly for some reason as well, could be desync overall but dm53 richocheting off a light seems odd to me.
